Pay As You Go Mobile

I prefer Pay as you Go cos I'm shit with money. Had two contracts but ran up bills of around £80 a month. Found I was making calls just for the sake of it.

Gone back to PAYG (Vodafone) and spend about £20 a month now. Kept hold of the free phone and simply picked up a SIM card outside Churchill Square for a score. Sorted.

O2 website has the sim cards for just 99p at the moment, they are great if you text a lot.

I do and I strugle to spend the £10 a month but since I was paying a minimum of £30 a month on my contract it's a bargain.

Also leaves you free to buy the phone of your choice.

With Orange now - was Vodafone before, and they're the same as each other. What differences in price there were seem negligable now.

I'm with Orange Pay As You Go. I hardly ever use the phone for actual calls, just for the odd text now and again.

I've always used £50 vouchers as they were cheaper for texts (5p instead of 10p), but now they are all 12p whatever voucher you buy.

The bloke in my local Orange shop recently advised me to switch to a different tariff for calls (20p a minute at all times) and to get a Text Saver package, which cost me £20.

That package gives me 5 free texts a day for a year, and an additional £5 of talktime. Seems like a good deal to me.

If you buy on-line withj O2, you get better deals than in the stores - at least that was the case with the SIM card I ordered off them.

I do loads of texts, and so got a SIM card that gives me 300 texts per month - all I have to do is top it up by a minimum of £10 per month. The £10 credit more than covers my calls, and I rarely get through more than the 300 texts (when you've used them up, they cost 10p each out of whatever credit you have left).

Marvellous.
same, ive got the same deal, ive found its the best around for pay as you go. O2 are the best

I too have this deal that I bought online at the o2 website. I used to have a contract with them which was costing me between £20 - £30 a month, but I ditched that after a couple of years and picked up this PAYG SIM card for £10. I only ever really text, so the 300 text messages are perfect and although you are supposed to top up a minimum of £10 every month, it doesnt seem to work that well and I end up paying about once every two months. So my bill has gone from £30 a month, to about £5.

The 300 free texts are only available when buying the sim card online, dont forget.

I'm on Vodafone pay as you talk and rarely put more than £10 a month on it. They've got lots of different price plans though and I don't make that many calls.

I've got Virgin pay as you go, and it's great for me. I don't make many calls though. I got it last December and put £30 in it, and it's still going fine.

Cheers everyone, I assuming from some of the above that I can switch sim cards?

Or am I being Mr dozy?

Provided you buy an unlocked phone (or your phone is already unlocked) then you can switch sims as ofeten as you like.
