A real eye-opener into the knee-jerk, populist, off the cuff workings of Osborne and his team. The woman was practically choking at one point, unable to deal with Paxman's comtempt.

Brilliant, just watched on iplayer.

The intake of water goes up with the realisation that she's getting skewered. You can almost see the look at the end, 'This is the interview that has shafted my career.'

It's a masterclass. She's on the back foot for the whole 10-12 minutes.

A Paxo performance to rival ther infamous Michael Howard interview back in the mid-1990s. Absolutely fantastic. Interview starts 7.44 minutes in.

'Do you ever wake up in the morning and think, Oh my God, I wonder what I'm going to be told today...Do you think you're incompetent?' Priceless!!!

Has she ever threatened to over-rule anybody, I wonder?

She does look a bit like Danny Alexander, only less ginger.

There's only person who would have done worse - and he is also from Norwich.

Because she is totally out of her depth in that job
Much as that interview is hilarious, I'm not convinced by this to be honest. Ultimately she has been hung out to dry by all of the treasury politicians after yet another u-turn. Would Osborne or anyone else have made a better job of answering Paxman? This government are giving a good impression of a bunch of fuckwitts, making policy u-turns every five minutes. They announce they are going to make cuts here and there, and then backtrack a month later - how is the public supposed to PLAN in this environment?

It was painful to watch how that little flower was pulled apart petal by petal and then stamped on by Paxman. The Tories will never let her go in front of Paxman again.

She took the bullet that was all, nothing really clever about the style just predictable

Just seen it. I felt sorry for her. As Paxo intimated, she was trying to defend a policy that she didn't agree with - never a good thing.

But, yes, I was thinking Ben Swain throughout the interview. In five minutes, her career prospects are in tatters

He is calling a government minister to account - how do you think he should have asked her? It's also irrelevant that it was predictable.

In fact, upon reflection, it's worse that it was predictable because if she knew what was coming from Paxman, she could have prepared better. And she could have had some help in that preparation from advisors. She is merely one of George Osborne's lightning conductors.
