When he was with us he used to like every tweet praising/defending him. Very insecure behaviour and not something you'd expect from someone in his position. I think much like Potter his profile was falsely enhanced by operating as part of a very well run machine. I don't think he'll last much longer at Chelsea tbh

It gets worse for Winstanley (if true)

But are they not the two clowns who got their pants pulled over cucharella? Shambles of a club

Yes they indeed are…

Can’t see Winstanley lasting much longer - it’s not the first time those 2 have had to get involved in order to get a deal done.

No matter how things turn out now, Chelsea don’t come out of it looking good

Why no mention of his 'co-sporting director' Lawrence Stewart? I thought they literally did EVERYTHING together?

Probably because Stewart is probably keeping quiet and pocketing his wages? Apparantly Boehly's original choice for the job, Boehly didn't want to admit the mistake and sack him when Winstanley was brought in, so set up the joint position. Would be interesting to get the inside low-down on how that is working!

That's pretty much what I was thinking/alluding to. It's CHELSEA who have come out and said anything about this, not Losestanley, which makes it clear what they want to happen. Quite happy to have them jointly quoted when it's good news, but when the shit hits the fan, there's no doubting who is the REAL sporting director.

The big question is - how on earth is the Mail Online so successful?? Almost impossible to actually read the article with so many pop-ups, flashing ads, competing stories, different colours....!

Anyway, another amusing Chelsea debacle :)

Not sure that’s true given Winstanley started his role at Chelsea before Stewart.

Stewart was appointed first but had a longer notice period with Monaco so didn’t actually didn’t take up the role with Chelsea until Feb this year.

Where as Winstanley was in place from November last year as we agreed compensation with Chelsea to release him from his contract (and the gardening leave he’d been placed on).

Apart from him, who is still there at Chelsea out of those who left our backroom?
