Was offered a new reduced deal by Adams, much like Mayo and Hart, but has rejected it, and will very likely return to the Australian A-league, unless he recieves a better offer in England in the next two weeks.

His wife wants to go home.

That is all.

So would most people, I suspect. Difference is, the other two were happy to take a big pay cut, knowing that it was as good a deal as they were likely to get. Reid clearly feels he can do better.

He had a year and a half drawing a full salary (I assume) whilst not playing so I see no problem with offering him a much reduced one over 6 months and taking it from there, I doubt that's what the club offered though.

He has an offer on the table from an A-league club, which outweighs the Albion's offer. His wife wants to go back, and if he can't earn more here then he has no argument to stay.

So it appears that we're only waiting to hear that Guy Butters was also offered a new contract and we start to wonder why Wilkins was allowed to announce his retained list before being removed.

It beggars belief, really, if it's true that "people" knew back in February that Wilkins was a goner. :nono:

Much easier to get them to accept a huge pay cut in late July though. And who's to say Adams wouldn't have chopped them too, if he had had more time to sort replacements or more luck in getting the ones he wanted.

Well if you believe people saying that the decision to bring back Adams was made January/February time, presumably he must have known something about it, so that gives him plenty of time to plan. And even if he didn't, he still had the whole summer. He's had no lack of time.

But maybe some of his targets went elsewhere.
