I think some of his work with JL was breathtaking. Since then, all he seems to have done is make a big tit of himself. Oh, & give us that sodding thumbs-up gesture at every opportunity.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Greatest living musician by a mile in my book. Should be considered a musical genius.

Well done Macca, living legend and national treasure.

Finest moments were Venus and Mars LP, and Jet/Let Me Roll It single tracks.

Band on the Run is the only album of note that he's written since the break up of the Beatles imo. Last 20 years has been absolute pap, great musician who lost the edge to his music when he stopped writing with Lennon. Some of their stuff was amongst the best pop music ever written. You had to be around at the time to realise just how good they were... probably.

I wouldn't cross the road, with a free ticket and front row seats to watch him these days.

Haven't listened to much of his output since Wings in the Seventies, as most of it has been throwaway tosh but he still qualifies as a genius for everything achieved up to that point.

And his new album The Fireman - entirely unlike anything he's ever done bar the odd Beatles experimental moment - is an absolute corker.

I saw Wings on a festival bill (headlining it).
I have to say, they were adept and entertaining, even though I'm not particularly interested in their records.
Same went for Queen, with me. Good at what they do, onstage, but not music I want to buy.
