His first book was a good read and an incite into the tortured soul that is Paul Gascoigne. He is releasing a second book. Anyone read the first and planning to get the second

Being Gazza My Journey to Hell and Back
Gascoigne, Paul; McKeown, John; Davies, Hunter

Synopsis
The nation has commented on and devoured Paul Gascoigne for years. They read his story. But not until now has anyone ever known what it is really like to wake every morning and be Gazza. What lies behind the cheeky grin, jokes and tears? Here Gascoigne, in the company of his therapist, confronts his demons and takes the reader into the recesses of his mind. The triggers that created explosive genius on the pitch, outrageous antics off it and at times plunged Gascoigne into dark despair are revealed together with the critical moments that influenced his alcoholism, depression, drug abuse, gambling, eating disorders and compulsive behaviour. This is more than the story of one man. It applies to people who face turmoil every day. Recognising a problem and seeking help is the hardest step. Through self-assessment forms and expert advice, any reader who sees a mirror of themselves will be offered help and a way forward. There has never been a book like this. Because there has never been a man like Paul Gascoigne.

Well I woke up yesterday morning in a pair of comedy plastic breasts still wankered from the night before. I got up, punched the wife in the face, smashed my knee to bits on a lamp-post on my way to the pub, and spent the rest of the day in a booze-fuelled frenzy of kebabs and karaoke, whilst gurning moronically at all and sundry and bursting into tears at the first sight of anything yellow.

I reckon that must be pretty close.

People take the piss out of Gazza and is battering his wife was hardly going to endear him to people and is in excusable but the blokes head is seriously messed. Anyone who has had a panic attack will know it is no laughing matter.

Good luck to the bloke and the first book was a damn good read.

Not forgetting burping at my wife when she put a camera anywhere near you, and shouting "f*** off Norway" when they showed the skiing on telly.

Read about this in The Times this morning. Sounds like this book is nothing like the first at all and it truly does lift the lid. When he received the first manuscript, he read it for 14 hours solid and, the realisation of what it detailed hit him, and he ended up crying his heart out.

Oh, and he's addicted to Maynard wine gums.

Tony Adams book was a blisteringly honest recollection of his darkest days when he drank 16 pint of guinness before moving on to something stronger. He used to get up at 10am , put on his trousers covered with urine stains and go to the pub for 11am.

Gascoigne drank up to 4 bottle of whisky a day whilst in China  .

Frank Skinner's book is the best

"well I would tell you about the 1980's; but to be be honest I was pissed for 10 years or so and can't remember anything"

book goes straight from 70's to early 90's!

I read the Times today and it is very sad as he has really struggled with being famous.

He was a very talented player and the good news or maybe bad is he has made enough from football to be comfortable and not work again - more than some players in their time.

Tank was at Spurs at the same time as him and only ever saw Gazza the player/joker but that was long before the media frenzy of his life. A few years back some of the Gillingham lads were after his shirt when they played Burnley but he came over and gave it to Tank which was a nice gesture.
