On one occassion in the second half just in front of us the lino flagged for a handball by their player who was about 1 yard from him, and the ref gave a free kick against El Abd for a foul and he was 20 yds away with the players having their back to him. Strange decision but one of many that the ref made.

Oldham were a disgrace. Came to do one thing - out-muscle us with huge blokes at the back and up front, with a touch of whining on the side (their no 18). Half the time they were wrestling us, rather than playing football. Fair play to Gus for keeping his cool, and the lads for just getting on with it (most of the time).

To be honest Oldham had a gameplan and it almost paid off for them. No complaints as I have seen the Albion do that to a better footballing side in the past.

The disgrace today was the ref who should have pulled Oldham up on the countless fouls they commited as it almost got out of hand. Different teams have different gameplans but the rules should always be the same!

Agree about the ref, but I don't think I've ever seen an Albion side so blatantly trying to wrestle, muscle and basically foul the opposition in the way Oldham did.

I think it is a legitimate tactic against a pass and move team. Think Allardyce's Bolton V Arsenal through the years.
