A good interview - hopeful of getting 1 or 2 additional players in before they go off to the alps.

Don't suppose he said anything about hoping to announce a signing tomorrow and that, apropos of nothing, he's always thought we have too few players whose surname commences with a letter that is at the back end of the alphabet?

He didn't mention that, no.

He did talk a bit about the way speculation gets whipped up via social media, even for players we're not interested in. He did say that only 4 or 5 people in the club know the full list of who we're after and they aren't leaking anything, so our key targets have not appeared in the press or 'social media' ... yet.

That would pretty much rule out Bobby then; unless he's thought of as not "key". I know that Bozza and others have backed right off Bobby in the last few days; but I'd still like to see it happen, notwithstanding the risk to his reputation such a move would entail.

I really like Barber, he's like your dad who's much wiser than you so won't let you have that extra pocket money to buy that shiny new BMX you've seen in Halfords because it may be dangerous. I'm 43 and my old man still won't hand over enough (any) pocket money.

Naylor's article on the other thread would seem to suggest it's highly unlikely to happen.

How can he possibly know nothing's being leaked when he doesn't even know how many people in the club know ....

What he says about Zamora / transfer window / signings via the BBC interview..

“We would never talk about any player on our list…that would be a pretty naive thing to do . Bobby was a great player for the club and he’s a fantastic footballer at Tottenham as well as at Brighton, West Ham and QPR. But we would never talk about a player on our list or how close we were to signing a player who was on our list…"

and about the The Argus

“Well the Argus speculates pretty much every day on what we’re doing and they didn’t speculate about the last two…

and future signings

“We are in the market for other players. We do need to strengthen . We’ve still got a lot of work to do this summer and that work goes on. And has been going on now for the best part of 6 months…”

and a bunch of other things. Tracking Hemed for ages apparently. Chris has been to see him play several times apparently.

That's the same interview that BBC SCR played a few days ago. Maybe they only played a bit of it and this is the full thing.

One thing he did say that hasn't been mentioned on this thread is that he hoped that there would be one or two signings before the squad head off for the Alps, i.e. this week. He specifically stated that this wasn't guaranteed, but was his expectation.

Nothing exciting really:

Lots of work still to do in the transfer window.
Hopefully a few more surprise transfers - there are certainly some in the pipeline that have not been publicised/speculated about.
At least 1 new kit will be used during the pre-season friendlies.
Go to the fans forum.

I suspect he said most of that last year. Like F1 cars, they go round and round

I'm more excited that Player is now in HD. The video quality, especially of highlights, was previously woeful. Though given last season, that wasn't the worst thing.

I'm a Player subscriber, but why hide something like this behind a pay wall?

Has PLayer improved significantly in the last year? I saw them advertising HD the other day, and I just thought chinny reckon.

Still works on my phone so I use that for the commentary. Would happily pay for it again if I knew it was worth it.

I'd also think about re subscribing if I knew I could actually see the ball.

Too many false dawns with Player, will wait for others to confirm that highlights are of reasonable quality
