I find it hard that people don't understand that PB's job is protecting the interests of BHAFC and not The Premier League. He's a first rate Chairman and we're lucky to have him.

Just imagine though, you've paid a King's ransom for a Northern powerhouse club suffering an abysmal industry reputation, have an awful relationship with the fans and seem to have a poor commercial record ..... who would you call?

Well he's Deputy Chairman, and surely now has or will have an ownership stake / options. Perhaps not so easy to prize him away, but you never know.

Would you rather be a Deputy Chairman on £1m with say, options, or a CEO of NUFC for £3m? I wouldn't care what my title was I'd rather exploit my earning potential.

Not necessarily - PB probably knows he's got a job for as long as he wants here and I'm sure TB looks after him OK financially. At Toon (or similar), under Saudi owners (for example), he could be out within months with a damaged reputation. The whole dynamic would be different - working relationship, trust, autonomy, philosophy, everything. It's not simply a case of money - the whole package has to be as right as possible.

Oh, I agree, my first point is "if I were them, who would I look for" and I think they would look at PB. You're right it's always more than the salary and TB seems to be keeping him very close and we rewarded, and, more importantly, valued.

I heard him om R5. He impressed the hell out of Ian Wright who practically proposed to him on the spot.

Clearly a very bright guy (Barber not Wrighty).

Wrighty is extremely bright. He listens, he lacks prejudice, he starts with a view that he's prepared to change, and he's an all round Top Man.

This.

Once your salary goes beyond a certain level you direct your career around your other needs. This may be your chance to become a legend or simply the chance to make a difference and be appreciated. Its only people with innate neediness or self regard (the two ends of the spectrum) that would jump at the chace to become CEO of Barcelona or ManU in PB's situation. PB doesn't strike me either as a man with a Trumpian tiny penis or a Mourinho-esque personality disorder.

Fair point. I'm not sure he's quite in the Barber League, but I like Wrighty. Unlike many pundits he's got better over the years. I certainly like him much more as a pundit than as a player.

The neutral venues idea was quite clearly the idea of the police who are worried about certain big clubs in certain city centers being unable to dissuade fans from congregating outside.

Gets the nod from those clubs quite obviously, they haven't got to host any games.

Patronisingly and conveniently leaked to the press putting Brighton on the back foot. Well done Barber for putting it to bed and taking the flak.

Has it been put to bed though? I understood there were 13 clubs in favour, 6 against, and Spurs still to decide - it needs 14 clubs in favour to pass.

Heart-warming video. Loved it when he kissed the badge.

Great gesture from our club to invite him to the Amex as the club's guest. Hope he has a great day.

Barber destined to be the new chief at the Premier League or FA one day. Just a matter of time.

Best Chairman & CEO in the Premier League (I’d add Manager to that list if Leeds hadn’t been promoted).

Wasn’t that long ago that people were slagging him off for one thing or another. Very short memories some people. [emoji23][emoji23]

Well done PB.:clap2:

Let's face it he had to get in touch with the fans, and fair play to him he has.

We all have a chance of redemption and has is taken his over the past year.

I wonder if he will give me my chance of redemption.
