fantastic letter, great to get it passed out to Bozza and spread around our fanbase...he is trying his best to do an unpopular job, and in my opinion, doing it well!

I wish he had mentioned the software problems, particularly the Android app. But I'll contact him tomorrow.

Apparently that is the responsibility of another provider. The league really need to sort these problems and contract some providers capable of providing a half decent service. Frankly the League, you've ripped us off.

Would be so good if they sorted out their own website rather than the shitty template. I HATE (amongst other things) having to click through to the main page every time from the bollocks that pops up first. What other website do you have to do that for?

Isnt the website design also down to FLi?

Good letter and about time too. As an exiled fan having to ration my attendances at games I have been very keen on subscribing to Seagulls Player over the last two seasons but am constantly deterred by the negative feedback on here, so I haven't wasted my money. I hope Barber's letter triggers an acceptable outcome.

BTW - Barber was the subject of some jeering at Boro yesterday, something along the lines '...he might have bought us a beer but he's still a c**t.....' .

I know he gets stick from certain quarters but that seemed a bit harsh, maybe the singers had been on the sauce all day, maybe they thought it was funny. Ok it was only a handful of punters singing but seems a bit sad to travel on 700 mile round trip, only to spout that sort of bile - rather than focus on supporting the team.

That is pathetic - good on those fans for making the trip, f**king s**t of them for spouting such abject crap.

Yes and ANOTHER provider.

From what I glean, the main website, "player" and the apps are now developed by three different companies. All out of the control of the clubs. I've had emails from Perform denying all responsibility for the app.

It's a shocking mess and one that the League should be ashamed off.

Take a look at the app forum, linked from the Google App store. Nothing to do with Perform.

Get a grip Football League or dump the lot. It's really easy, if they aren't delivering a service cancel the contract.

But yet, when asked why they (perform) use ancient and outdated flash on their highlights instead of html5, they point one in the direction of the FL app. The app works on the highlights, although I wonder if it's a hosted flash stream as the quality is even worse than on a browser. Flash is now killed on the most up to date version of android, KitKat and only viewable with a workaround, so anyone on an android phone or tablet is unlikely to be able to view match highlights.

I hope Barber manages to extricate the Albion from this shoddy deal. It would be great to get our money back, I'd like to pay it to the club instead.

I cannot beleive some of our fans that's pathetic

Personally I'm only interested in listening to the commentary on the app. I've given up, never got it to work and have cancelled my subs.

Seems I'm not the only one either according to that forum. Both suppliers are quite happy to blame each other.

Not only is it a mess technically, it's a complete car crash from a customer service point of view.

I work in the TV industry, from a supply point of view. It's far more fractured than simply re-routing audio commentary.

We can get problems all the way down the supply chain, but expect customers to contact us when issues occur and the systems are in place to handle it. Mostly the problems are out of our control, but we determine where they are, fix them (usually by contacting a third party) explain and apologise.

We apologise because we should have spotted it first. If you are alerted to a technical problem by a viewer monitoring has failed. It's embarrassing and you try your hardest to stop it happening again.

The major problem I have with the current set up is the question of who to contact and Performs manner of responding late and usually not being aware of a problem.

I just don't understand how the football league can sign up to something on behalf of all football clubs.

There is a big clue in that statement along the lines of Football League

Thank goodness that this is finally being taken seriously.

There are many of us around the world who totally rely on this service for our match day experience. Perform have been long overdue a kick up the arse.

I'm glad action is finally being taken on this. I'd really, REALLY like to sign up for this service but I've been shocked at how bad it's been for other people.

If they can guarantee a decent audio stream for every away match, they'll have my cash. Until then I won't cough up. Glad PB has realised this, and is proactively demanding answers.

I'm pleased he's making his mark and complaining about this on our behalf. Due to being outside of Sussex for many games this season (looking after an ill family member) I pay for the Seagulls player subscription so I can listen to the commentary when I'm away. Unreliable doesn't begin to describe it. Glad to see Mr B doing something about - as if it continues in it's present capacity I won't renew again.
