6 more years without bottle tops.

It’s a high price for us to pay for good leadership.

I heard Barber has been leveraging AI to answer all the fans' emails. He's also developed a "Paul Barber MBE" AI voice bot to deal with Todd Boehly's transfer bids.

So that's basically 99% of his job now outsourced.

Paul now focuses his time on high-profile media interviews and innovation. Apparently, one idea is a pilot of national geographics, "How to Catch a Smuggler," but it will be filmed on game day with Paul hunting down fans with bottle tops.

Imagine it’s more like sell-on % for players like Buonannotte, Baleba etc
The one thing it definitely ISN'T is sell-on %ages, as they are so nebulous that there is absolutely no way to put a figure on them.

It will be add-ons, ie if player X makes Y appearances, or scores Z goals, or wins a certain number of caps etc, or potentially if the club achieves certain milestones during the contract duration of the player concerned (we received add-ons from Leicester for appearances made by Ulloa and by avoiding relegation for two seasons).

Such add-ons are clearly defined - they may or may not be achieved, but their amounts are known exactly.

This next contract extension could be career-defining.

Amazing news. Still mad to me that he answers fans emails directly on a regular basis.

So good at his job and a massive reason why we are where we are. Love him.

Yes, I just think at this stage of the season is an odd time to do an extension, unless his agents been touting that he could be available. Spurs?

Levy and PB effectively have very similar roles, albeit the former has a substantial shareholding.

Plus Levy I think has a reputation as a control freak …. @Kinky Gerbil might confirm.

I’m not sure how he has remained out of the limelight - perhaps TB has put some kind of force around him that keeps him under the radar. For all his annoying foibles like bottle tops, flasks and food, he remains the one person that will keep our club competing with the so called big 6.
Under the limelight? He may as well have a weekly slot on TS. No one goes unnoticed in the PL even the crap players make the headlines for being crap.
I don’t think I could name one other clubs CEO apart from that scary looking lady at Newcastle.

The most curious thing..
What was the offer from Chelsea?

£200 million plus 3 bottle tops, and half eaten Piglets pie?

The deputy chairman thing is important too. No Nation-state owned club is giving him that.

And the shares that come with it, presumably mean that it would be against the rules for him to be involved at another PL club anyway (without giving those up).
Somebody mentioned this on here a few weeks ago, and it raised a bit of debate, but there was no proof offered that Barber actually does have a shareholding. Actually, I think the dullard (or @Bozza?) mentioned that in the most recent shareholders filing there was no indication that he had shares.

So - does he have a shareholding? I honestly don't know but it seems it might be something that crops up in future so a definitive answer would be good to have.

Between Oct and Jan the holding company created a new class of shares with different rights. We’ll only find out all the shareholders when the Confirmation Statement is filed at CH this August.

A great bit of news to offset the ambiguity flowing from the confused ramblings of RDZ.

I’m not sure I realised CE’s worked on a fixed term contract like players do. Always assumed it was just standard PAYE, I had no idea there was a length of time specified. Seems bizarre to me.

A better model is a high churn of professional staff with short notice periods, all using head-hunters. ;)
