First Liverpool cool on RDZ, then RDZ starts talking like a man regaining some focus for the job in hand, now Barber signs a nice big long contract. A good day for the Albion.

I was surprised we could potentially owe more in add ons than we could receive, on paper (not in reality as don’t see us getting any for Cucurella or Sanchez) although the former now has a full cap)

Watford will be happy if things continue as they are
Imagine it’s more like sell-on % for players like Buonannotte, Baleba etc (edit - add-ons, not sell-on)

Does this mean Mr Barbers has been approached? What sort of compensation would be within this contract if he was poached?
Exactly. I can't believe everybody's delighted and think this means he's going to stay. Potter's contract was extended and amended for a reason, the result of which was £20 million from those financial goons in London.

I’m tentatively waiting for a 3rd announcement today, thanking PBOBE and wishing him all the best for the future - and that the £122m profit is from his newly negotiated release clause

Seriously, well done PBOBE - we are lucky to have one of the top CEOs in the industry at the helm.

How long has he been here already ?

Massive profits
New contract for PBOBE
Joao Pedro announced fit
Enciso announced fit
March possibly back before the season finishes

…..and yet, there’s always someone with a half-empty glass :lolol:

Yes, I just think at this stage of the season is an odd time to do an extension, unless his agents been touting that he could be available. Spurs?

It's not just the new contract. He was already the second highest paid CEO in the Premier League, he's also deputy chairman. He's running the whole club on a day to day basis with a lot of autonomy handed down by TB. He's not getting that at any other club. The new contract is just reward for being a very key figure in the club achieving those record profits. TB knows how much PBOBE is worth to our success and has made it almost impossible for another club to prise him away.

Had a bad gut feeling a few weeks ago when media wrote about Chelsea looking for a Boehly replacement as the Clearlake front man but good to see it wont be Barber

We are coming up to the end of the financial tax year - it seems like a really appropriate time to look at our overheads and projections for the 24/25 tax year to budget ahead but also evaluate where we are in terms of profits and what sort of contracts we can afford to renegotiate.

Really, there‘s absolutely nothing to give grounds to this kind of speculation - there won’t be a day that goes by without our top players and staff being linked to some club or other because everyone is interested - ’Weare Brighton’ after all and we are taking the EPL by storm, with our management, with our football and with our financial acuity. 🙂
