One decent coach. You ask the players about the other - he hardly spoke to them.
My money is on Gus being the one that talked, and lots!

Surely that's evidence that he's just a fan?
It's a shame that one's who moan always shout the loudest. I'm sure that will have me down as someone who worships the club but what exactly are the club supposed to do? If they issued a statement with everything that happened, they'd be accused by people like you of lacking class. I genuinely wonder why you (and you're not alone) bother supporting the club. You obviously don't trust a word the club say!
Engage and you can find out there's more, much more.

Brian Clough didn't do much talking to the players either, that didn't stop him being one of the finest coaches this country has ever seen.
Yes because it's the same situation now.
Why is it taking this long? I've cut and pasted Barber's last year's Post-Gus exit statement in case they haven't got it to hand, just needs a bit of tweaking and change the year from 2013 to 2014:
"In the meantime, please rest assured that the football club continues to function entirely as normal for the time of year. In some cases, staff from all areas of the club are taking well-earned breaks and holidays, while others continue to sell season tickets, apply finishing touches to a new club membership scheme, meet our post-season sponsor commitments, and finalise plans for our pre-season (as is also normal, we started this work well before the end of last season). Our summer training camp will be in Spain (details to follow soon). And, as is customary, we will be playing a combination of friendly matches away from home against local teams, and also expect to play a home friendly at the Amex on the weekend of 27 July. We will confirm our full schedule for pre-season as soon as possible. Over the course of the summer, we plan to announce a series of new sponsorships, while finalising long-term deals for our stadium catering services and technical partner/kit manufacturer. Finally, with Financial Fair Play rules in mind, we must continue to look for ways of reducing our operational cost base to ensure our club is as efficient as possible and to maximise our football budget for the season ahead.
"Thank you for your continued patience, support, and loyalty. It is very much appreciated by everyone here."
Have you read "Damned United?", great book.
The point being that you should never blindly believe what the club are telling you. Always question everything they say - even Tony Bloom.
It is a great book, I also enjoyed Michael Sheen's performance as Clough in the film.
Peter Taylor would do the talking, put his arm round the players etc while Clough would put the fear of God into them. Too much talking only diluted the clarity of his message. A management style very much of it's time i.e. before agents and Sky.
Liverpool also did something similar in the era of Bob Paisley and the boot room.
Agreed, blindly is key though. Examining a club statement and coming to the conclusion you agree is not the same as blindly accepting everything we're told - context is key.The point being that you should never blindly believe what the club are telling you. No, Westdene Seagull is right. History tells us we should ALWAYS scrutinise the club's hierarchy. It doesn't mean we should distrust them on everything, but being complacent or blind to a problem is what leads clubs down the wrong path. The fact Albion fans do pay attention and fo ask questions is probably the main reason the club is still around today. Are you joking? He's earned his stripes with me. He can do and say whatever he wants and I'll back him, certainly before any player/manager/coach!
Look down the football pyramid and choose someone else! We're in safe hands you nutter!
You really are becoming like Husty. It is so boring. Maybe the club should check with you before making every decision to make sure it has your seal of approval!
Just because people don't slag off the club, they are like sheep. It's pathetic.
The sheep: "We don't need to be told anything"
Barber statement: "You don't need to be told anything"
Sheep: "There, we said so. He said we don't need to be told anything. We are happy like a room without a roof"
