I think the comment about our revenues and championship/ premiership football is very telling. So basically what is bring said is even with a sugar daddy bankrolling us, we can't compete with teams with parachute payments....well notts forest and derby buck that trend, as did palace really!

I wonder with it being TB's club, if some other director said I will put in £50 million to get us in the prem, if he would be prepared to give up some power, or are we saying that what barber said above is really the reality and we will never be in a position to compete unless some of these youngsters come off in the same way as ferguson's babes did at Manu some time in the future

But it's not possible to put in £50m and still remain within FFP whoever does it. If FFP remains and we want to stick to it the only ways to increase the player budget are to increase income or reduce costs.

I never suspected with all else he does PB would sneak into our living room unseen. But good on him, especially as he accepts there are only a few ungrateful pillocks that think Mr Tony is a such an anomaly that he spends over 200 million ( bloody hell ) and then sneaks into the Amex in the dead of night and nicks the Leo transfer money...FFS !
I feel sorry for my Mrs having to put up with my mischief, but I should feel sorrier for the few malcontents that post on here and never stop whinging, when in reality we have the best owner, directors, stadium, and professional set up at least in the Championship. And in time I feel confident that Sami will become a top manager too. Well at least when he gives Paddy a bit more time on the pitch !

Are any clubs breaking even or making a profit? At what point do all the chairmen turn to each other and say " this is just ridiculous"?

I doubt any are making a profit but the problem is chairman who chase the dream with other people's money and then they disappear, the club goes into admin and creditors lose dosh. What should change, and was posted earlier, is that the rule about football debts being paid in full first should be abolished.

One question that no one ever asks is why everything about the stadium was upgraded ,millions more spent than needed to be which was great but it seems now we can't afford it.All the lounges and corporate areas were vastly upgraded at the chairmans request ,his money so up to him but it's starting to look like we can't really afford the stadium that's been built,I imagine that goes for the training ground as well.

The upgrades and extra seating isn't going to add much to the running costs of the Amex. It's the player's wages that are crippling.

and this is a classic example of why I feel we couldn't be in better hands, what more can people want than someone who is prepared to answer the questions and criticism and face it head on? (There will now follow comments about being sycophantic) Top man, strong and courageous board with a plan to get us to The Premiership in a sustainable manner.

It's all relevant, state of the art stadium fantastic, training ground brilliant, multi award winning projects great but they all cost a vast amount of money,but it's the players who get you to the promised land and the multi millions that are generated at that level , not everyone will agree with me but the feel good factor has well gone which is a great shame and that's because of what's happened on the pitch, that controls the destiny of which way a club is heading.

Don't think that's true. I asked this question a couple of months ago and someone on here (El Pres I think) said that a director or significant shareholder couldn't put in money without falling foul of FFP but there's nothing stopping an ordinary punter putting money in. So, if someone won Euromillions, he could cough up £50m without any effect on FFP

When a big club - ie a Champions League regular - goes bust. Arsenal charge the highest prices in the country while earning astronomical amounts from Premier League and Champions League because even these vast sums aren't enough to pay the wages that they choose to give their players. But no owner in recent years has been strong enough to take the first step towards breaking the vicious circle caused by player wage demands.

Of course it doesn't help when clubs like Real Madrid are effectively subsidised by their local authority, who bought their training ground off them for well above market value. Or when Uefa slap FFP violators on the wrist instead of hitting them where it hurts - in their case with points deductions or competition bans.

Just remember folks, actions speak louder than words, interesting that he gets annoyed about some things posted on here and also lets not forget we are the most expensive club in the championship, apart from that all's well
