Apparently we're sniffing.

In that pic at least he bears more than a passing resemblance to former Albion player (and now "Welcome to Wrexham" star) Jordan Davies:-

That's a decent record, even at that level.

Google suggests he's from the Irish Traveller community. I mention this purely as a point of interest due to the relative rarity of such a background in football, so please, please: no derogatory responses, folks.

Would make him the subject of considerable media interest if he makes it as a footballer- I can remember Freddie Eastwood (Romany Traveller heritage) being a prolific striker for Southend and being subjected to abusive shouts about caravans everywhere he played. Hopefully we've moved on a bit since then.

Interestingly, as part of the same google search: it turns out Eric Cantona, Ricardo Quaresma and Andrea Pirlo are all of Romany Traveller heritage too. Never knew that before. Every day's a schoolday, eh?

Quaresma famously so. Gets a huge amount of abuse in Portugal off the back of it - that community is very heavily discriminated against there.

As the Albion have had a long tradition and association with players originating from the ROI, playing for the club.
If this transfer comes into fruition, hopefully he'll make the wise choice of south instead of north over the border.

Yeah, never heard of the connection myself: much less Cantona and Pirlo!

Celtic have HUGE Irish links and support though so either is possible, if there is anything in it of course

USG are another being linked and who have been scouting him regularly. Wouldn’t be a bad move if he played in Belgium for a couple of seasons before joining us…

Idon't know what they're like over there, but they do make themselves pretty obnoxious and unwelcome around here. Not discrimination, just facts.
