[Albion] PASSING ON A TICKET WARNING

This is a warning to anyone thinking of selling on there spare ticket(s). I wish someone had warned me!!

I confess to being ignorant of the terms and conditions of ticket sales as I suspect are many supporters.
I tried to get a refund for my ticket to the semi-final on Sunday and was told I could not.
So being someone who did not want to see the ticket go to waste or see an Albion supporter who really wanted to go but was denied as they were all sold out.
I arranged to pass on the confirmation email in exchange for the face value of the ticket.

This has cost me a 10 match home ban and my Albion account has been suspended. So anyone thinking of doing the same please be warned!!

This. I got seven tickets for our group, legitimately. They are all STHs and on my Friends and Family. So that we can arrive together or separately I then forwarded the email with the link to three different email addresses so the tickets could go on the correct phone.

After that, although I am the "prime" I have no control of those tickets or if the correct download link is used by the correct person.

I trust my mates, luckily, but forwarding of email and tickets on multiple phones was all part of a perfectly legitimate process.
You’re in IT - they have all the STH/F&F details, and presumably can see where (who) has uploaded tickets to wallets - quite easy to run an algo cross-matching the two and flag up any mismatches (ie ticket uploaded to a wallet not associated with the STH etc)

You’re in IT - they have all the STH/F&F details, and presumably can see where (who) has uploaded tickets to wallets - quite easy to run an algo cross-matching the two and flag up any mismatches (ie ticket uploaded to a wallet not associated with the STH etc)
I'm in IT - and I would be amazed if the data was good enough for that. One of our group keeps his tickets on an older phone that won't have a number that's associated in any with his account. Four of the group are a father and three sons. I couldn't tell you if they've all got it on Dad's phone or on their own phones, or if those phones are registered to their fan number. People change email addresses all the time and many have three or more.

Your assumption is correct I get to maybe 10 games a season. I agree that it is harsh as it was 1 ticket at face value surely a warning is more appropriate for most supporters like me.
If you were touting it for a profit, i'd say you should be banned indefinitely. But just passing to a mate for face value, when your plans change, when tickets were available to those without loyalty points ...... I just don't get it. I don't get why the club has this compulsion to treat people like naughty little children.

This isn't about our club, but WTF is going on in the world? Especially in this country. It's run by morons. And then you get stuff like this. I get it- rules are rules. But how can it ever, ever be right for a well meaning football supporter to be banned for 10 games for selling their ticket when touts are doing this for literally every single game? They're crooks who make a living out of it. It's just all upside down.

I’m not sure Apple allow much to be shared from an Apple wallet though. But I guess if they see a different device ID to a stored season ticket etc might help. But if someone changed a device it’d be the same thing and you don’t hear of people being banned or asked to explain.

….but those addresses will still be associated with wallets……

Biggest issue remains not having a legit way to transfer away tickets.

I got some guest tickets for Brentford for some friends and the girl fell ill on the day of the game so we removed the tickets all from her phone and put on another phone.

I know this is Wembley but really can’t see they’d email just because of a ticket being added to another wallet?!

Can you post the email so we can understand what rule has been broke and what evidence etc?

Bit confused, had to send on the email for guests when I bought the guest tickets (obviously tickets are in my name) so what’s the difference to the OP here?
Apologies if someone has posted same response … I’m gradually going through this thread.

There’s surely a big distinction between the one ticket we were able to buy as STHs/Albion+ members - using our priority spots. Passing one of these tickets on would surely breach the priority scheme set by the club. That’s very different to then buying guest tickets.

So I can understand why not allowed - but puzzled as to how the club found out!!

Agreed.

We need to see the email from the club or else I’m not convinced we’ve been given the full story.

Logically the only way the club would have found out is if either person buying the ticket told them (why would they?!) or it was in fact someone from the club posing as a someone interested in buying.

Unless when OP contacted the club they flagged his account as a potential wrong 'un and watched to see where his ticket ended up before hitting the ban button.

Out of interest, how did this "other NSC member" know you weren't able to use your ticket, or is it someone you knew?

I'm just thinking that if it was from one of the threads where people were helping people out with getting tickets and the club has somehow sent in a mole, then they are bang out of order. Let's hope it's not that.

Potentially but surely you can just pass it to family or friends and they use it as your guest…? There’s no proof there at all. There’s more to this than what we’ve been told imo…

Yeah but I honestly don't think the ticketing system looks that deeply for connections. Would be some sort of GDPR/privacy issues surely? The phone I have my season ticket on is different to my everyday phone (and the wallet has a different email address to my account plus that phone doesn't have a simcard so no number) so I'm certain the ticketing system doesn't check such things.

Sounds more like a sting. Curious if the OP will out who they sold the ticket to?
