Don't like the bloke but good speech by Clegg. He never just wrote THAT on the back of a fag packet, must have seen it coming some time ago.

Why? They've done well vote wise... and she's already said she fully intends to complete her two-year stint.

The Greens have done well vote wise despite Natalie Bennett, not because of her. She's just an Aussie on a gap year playing at politics IMHO. Caroline Lucas is an absolute star, and a huge number of the extra Green votes this time around have been due to disillusioned Lib Dem voters looking around for any other kind of idealistic party to vote for.

I agree, but it's a 15 year gap year.

I think all the main leaders probably had a choice of speeches pre written for whichever result came about. Clegg was very eloquent in defeat, I think he is a big loss to politics.

Milliband won't resign today now, he isn't going to give Big Dave the satisfaction of decapitating three parties in one day.

Well played Ed - much respect for that.

After working flat out for weeks on end, being up all night whilst suffering the biggest psychological blow of your life, it can't be easy to do what he's just had to do.

I thought Ed and Nick's speeches were both honourable and strong.

Yup. total respect for that.

The tragedy is that Milliband showed far more passion in his resignation speech than he did when he was asking us to believe in him and to vote for his vision for the country.
