Does anyone know what the situation is with parking there on Saturday?

The SEAA (South of England Athletics Association) Cross Country Championships are being held at Stanmer Park this Saturday and the last race doesn't START until 14:50.

Parking for this event is at University of Sussex.

Doesn't Dick's open 2 1/2 hours before kick off and the concourse 2?

Yep Im going to the cross country, running for for Herne Hill Harriers (no Palace fans amongst our ranks though - leave it!)

Most suprised when we saw it was the same day as the cup tie - I presume the authorities think we'll be on our way before you lot start turning up! Could get interesting as the cross country will be very well attended (than when its held in Devon or Norfolk). Knowing that it already gets congested, but we will be going the right direction, back to Brighton afterwards.

Oh no, now I've got to try to remember which voucher I should use as well as not feel too guilty seeing all this fit and healthy people just before I devour an Amex Stew Pie!

Travel chaos!

Brighton and Hove Albion | News | Latest News | Latest News | Saturday's Travel Arrangement

Albion's FA Cup fourth round tie against Newcastle United on Saturday (kick-off 5.15pm) is an extra fixture to the season schedule and there will be some minor changes to the transport services.

This Saturday is a particularly busy period for Brighton and the Falmer area in particular, and with this in mind, supporters using the park & ride services and stadium car parks can expect to be affected.

Please see information below relating to the different transport services:

Rail and Bus services
Trains and buses will operate as normal but you may wish to add a bit of time to your journey to the stadium in case of congestion from other events. Falmer station is adjacent to the Amex stadium concourse. There are trains available for fans travelling to the stadium before and after matches.

Park & ride
All of the park & ride sites will be operating for this game, although there might be changes to the normal parking and pick-up points. Park & ride locations are listed below:

• Mill Road, third exit off A23/A27 roundabout, BN1 8ZF. No change to service.

• University of Brighton, Lewes Road, BN2 4AT. The University of Brighton has an Open Day for new students. The club believes that there will still be sufficient parking spaces for the park & ride to operate as normal. However, it may be that you will be directed to different parking areas than those you normally use. Please be patient and follow the directions of stewards.

• Brighton Racecourse, Freshfield Road BN2 9XZ. There is also a Tattoo Show on at Brighton Racecourse on Saturday. The club have worked with the Racecourse to find a resolution. As a result, the park & ride will still operate as normal although parking and pick up may be from different places.

For directions please put the relevant postcode into your satnav or route planner. Mill Road can only be accessed from the A23/A27 junction at Patcham and by driving west up Mill Road. You will not be allowed to enter Mill Road from the Hove turn-off from the A27.

The park & ride buses will run from 3pm and run for 90 minutes after each match. Please note all cars must be removed from the Mill Road car park no later than two hours after the match.

You can purchase your travel voucher online or by calling our customer services team on 0845 873 0251 or in person at the Seagulls Store located at the Amex or in Queens Road.

Car parking
There is a Cross Country event in Stanmer Park with around 6,000 attendees, which takes place during late morning and early afternoon. To assist with congestion, the club has agreed to park coaches attending this event at the stadium. Their departure will coincide with people arriving for the match so some congestion is inevitable. All those entitled to park in Bennett's Field will be parked, please be patient and comply with stewards' instructions.

In addition to the Cross Country event, the University of Sussex is holding an Open Day. If you have a pass to park in the University, we ask that you do not arrive until after 3pm so that the University guests have time to leave.

Those who have parking at Bennett's Field or the University of Sussex will still be able to park but may experience some congestion, particularly if they arrive before 3pm.
