Adidas produced the design in-house and claim it is a “design DNA that celebrates the unique aspects of Great Britain, while encapsulating the fire of passion that burns within every athlete."

So anyone believing it is simply a white trackie top with GREAT BRITAIN printed across the chest in orange letters is clearly mistaken. (Yours for £90 btw)
Yet Germany have exactly the same template / design of tracksuits as us.... 😏 Marketing bollox? Surely not...

I'm sure this has been mentioned before (i.e. can't be arsed to trawl through 2,033 responses to find out!) but FFS, who designed the GBR tracksuits???
A Liverpudlian? They love a track suit and it does look a bit Chavvy imo

Amen.

And, at a time when events in this country have been so thoroughly depressing, the Olympics has been the perfect antidote: joyous and inspirational as some incredible people achieved their life's dreams after years of meticulous dedication.
100% this. The sportsmanship, camaraderie, joy on the faces of medal winners, seeing them blub and hug watching family members in the crowd, the humbling post-event TV interviews etc etc have all been just fantastic. Just seen Hudson-Smith interviewed on TV - encapsulates everything the Olympics has been about. Narrowly beaten but did his absolute best, his mum was watching and he didn’t know and he’s proud and happy with his silver even though he knows he was a gnat’s chuff away from gold.

This is the 2024 Olympics thread.

If people want to start a new thread about British sport in general, please go ahead. I’d be happy to read and contribute myself. But please don’t f*** up this one - it’s been a great thread so far, celebrating all sports and all competing nations.

Thanks.

I've given up on the thread in the last couple of days. It was really fun to chat amongst like minded Olympics fans for the first week, but it's gone way off topic now track and field is involved.

Every single one of those medals earnt out there should be celebrated to the max, even if they were favourites to get a gold or something higher. They're all unbelievable achievements, to win only one of three medals available in your chosen Olympic sport against all the other Athletes in the World. Outstanding.

That was pretty shit imo.

Bring on the sailing, more bad news in this too it seems. Silver being mentioned before the race started

Silly old bat
Sailing is so shit in light winds
Why on earth the French chose Marseille as a venue is puzzling. Sables de Lonne is the start of the Round the World Vendee race. It's on the Bay of Biscay and wind is never a problem.
