Feels like what seemed a huge chance of a gold is slipping away now…

Too busy to watch but Alibaba are a global sponsor and I bet that might have something to do with it.

I doubt China are the only ones cheating, although with Russia banned, China are almost certainly the biggest cheaters. We rely on countries to police their athletes, and countries like China do the opposite, arranging the cheating for them.

Had a quick skip through here and didn't see anything about the Skeet Shooting. Talk about nail biting penalty shoot out finish, first to miss loses, but we were robbed as our girl Amber Rutter was deemed to have missed when a slow motion replay shows a clear hit. Silver that could have been Gold.
Why has this not been pushed by the press at all?

True but in a previous round of 4 shots the Chilean shooter thought she'd hit both clays but judges said only one. There was no replay on her shots so maybe she was right so even stevens.

If anybody in your world would like to spend a day with a GB Medallist this Autumn and help the Athletes support good causes there are a couple of Prize Draws being run by the athlete purpose project I work with. There is Cycling, Rowing, White Water (hosted by the Kayakers), Hockey or a general fun day with a host of medallists from different sports.

Rowing a special day with Nine Medallists Draw ends Friday
www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/homerowing

All Sports next draw 1st September 2024

www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/gbcharitydays

If you can share via

It would all be appreciated by myself and the athletes.

Many thanks.

Molly Caudery out of the pole vault after 3 successive failures in qualification.

Set the bar too high to start with. A decent chance of a medal gone.

Looked like a total failure of technique on her third attempt as she was miles above the bar but kicked it down almost on the way up. She hardly made it to the mat. Too tentative, I would guess, to get the bend into the pole. Holly Bradshaw failed to qualify as well. Not good.

Looking forward to another shiny Swedish gold medal today. Hopefully also a new world record, if Duplantis can be arsed.

Probably going to be least exciting olympic gold I've seen Sweden take but fascinating to watch an athlete who is so monstrously far above everyone else in his sport.

Is it just me or is there an overload of gymnastics? Seems to be on everyday with the same competitors doing much the same, showing
very impressive abilities but how many people throwing themselves around on various pieces of equipment do you want to see?

As an aside is Matt Baker an expert in EVERYTHING?

That's because there are team, individual and apparatus competitions. Last day today.
Re Countryfile's Matt Baker - an expert at nothing but madly enthusiastic about everything.
