But how will Chris Kamara pay his bills?

Even by delusional Yorkshire standards that is embarrassingly wrong.

Golds ACTUALLY won BY a Yorkie alone:
1. Triathlon, Yee (Leeds)
2. Mountain Bike, Pidcock (Leeds)

Golds won by Teams that included a Yorkie:
1. Women's quad rowing, Brayshaw (Leeds with team-mates from Lutterworth, Richmond and Coleraine)
2. Women's team sprint, Marchant (Leeds with team-mates from Carmarthen and Litchfield)
3. Men's eights - I can't actually be arsed to check, but might be one on there somewhere

Golds NOT won by Yorkies:
1. Eventing (Leamington / London / Lincolnshire)
2. Mens' 4 x 200m Freestyle (Bury / London / Glasgow / Worcester)
3. Shooting, Hales (Chatham)
4. Women's kite surf, Aldridge (Poole)
5. Women's 800m, Hodgkinson (Manchester)
6. Men's climbing, Roberts (Surrey)
7. Women's trampoline, Page (Crewe) - though I think she does train at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.
8. Women's light sculls, Craig (Pembury) and Grant (Cambridge)
9. Show-jumping (Peebles / Enfield)

So Yorkshire won TWO golds that the rest of the UK 'didn't win'.

Or at very best Yorkshire won 5 and the rest 12.

I thought Yee was from the wrong end of the A23?

Alex Yee was born in Lewisham, which is up north but not Yorkshire

You are forgetting that most of them have been to Yorkshire in the past, therefore they are honorary Yorkshire folk….my point stands.

how many did you soft southern blouse wearing shandy drinking poofs win then?

Wait, so visiting Yorkshire is now enough to make you Yorkshire?

So long as you swear allegiance to Geoff Boycott and have yorkshire pudding and gravy with every meal.

TeamGB online shop has started discounting some of the official Paris 2024 kit.
Well, it’s arrived and it’s a lovely piece of Adidas merch.

POTENTIAL BRIGHTON EVENT INVOLVING GB ATHLETES? Your thoughts?

The GB Athletes who work on the purpose project Legacy 300 have long been planning a corporate social impact day, www.leacy300.com/homecoming but since they and I enjoyed the Club France and Champions Park vibe we have been looking at staging some family events again to create a social impact...be interested in your thoughts about one in Brighton, (the Bristol one is at Glos CCC Ground so looking at Hove?) It won't have the budget of the National Lottery funded event or scale but will be a great community event nonetheless.

We are planning on 29th September 2024 to deliver a fun interactive day with 12 GB Medallists for all the family

The event is part of the Legacy 300 Athlete Purpose Project, www.legacy300.com which has already raised £635K for good causes with places on Athlete hosted experience days being multiplied at Auction, and with Legacy 300 being run by an Albion fan, it seemed a great idea to bring along other athletes for a fun family day in the area.
  • You will get to hear from all 12 Olympic and Paralympic Medallists
  • They will also compete against each other in a special on stage challenge.
  • There will be signing and photo sessions throughout the day so you should get 1 or 2 selfies with the GB Medallists
  • For your children there will be 10 fun activities on the day for them to compete and get a certificate signed by one of the GB Medallists on completion.
  • Another 10 activities and entertainments to be added for family contests.

THE PURPOSE OF THE DAY: HELP THE ATHLETES SUPPORT LOCAL GOOD CAUSES

The project has raised over £635K by charities selling places on day with GB Athletes.

Profits from Homecoming creates a fund which local good causes can draw down places on these days to multiply their value at auction.

Tickets will cost £10 Adults / £5 Children Under 16

Full details on the event will be placed on our socials throughout August so please follow (or get your kids to).

Time for the Paralympics everyone! :)

As this thread was so enjoyable before in some tough times, any chance we could keep it going with a small Mod title addition with 'and Paralympics'?

Over to you, Mods. @Frutos @Guinness Boy et al .

Edit - and as if by magic.... Many thanks @Frutos .
