Absolutely (Charlton fan here). He was shocking for us and most Charlton fans are delighted with the news. Good win tonight for you lot btw. good evening all round

But you was delighted when you persuaded Dowie to move "north"
Nice bit of sucking up btw

The reason TFORLC was on such a long contract at Newcastle was because at the time he was one of the favourites to be the next England manager.
So he must have done something right once.

And the bonus is that Parish is about to pay out £3.5/4 million to get him and with the ego's of both of them, you just know it will end in tears.
Who pays that sort of money out to get a manager who was sacked three times in his last 4 jobs.

It's up to £4 mill now is it ?

The papers are reporting Palace will have to pay Newcastle £2 million compensation and then offer Pardew a 4-year deal of £2.5 million a year, so that reads as a £12 million package. Apparently Palace are going to double Pardew's Newcastle wages.
This is one hell of a leap from a club who - one year ago - were baulking at paying Pulis £1.5 million a year with a £1 million bonus for keeping them up in 2013/14.

Pardew is a far more expensive option than Pulis ever was, so his popularity with the fans will be tempered by the fact he's on a huge deal and was signed at the same time Pulis was without a club. With this sort of financial pressure on Pardew to succeed it will certainly be interesting to see how they get on in the second half of the season, especially if Pulis takes over one of their relegation rivals.

It's a different pressure then Newcastle.
It's about survival this season, nothing more, nothing less.
Pulis is in talks with WBA, can't see him working with their chairman and DOF, but he wants a job.

Edit- that £2.5 mill a year contains a £1 mill survival bonus, the same as Pulis was getting.

2) He will cost them a stupid amount of money when they could get someone better for free

The in fact had someone better in Pulis. All they had to do was meet his transfer demands, which would likely have been less costly than this whole saga.

So how much will it cost Palace to bring in Pardew and pay him for one season then. Add on top of this any money paid to Warnock to leave.

But you was gloating parish had to pay £3.5/£4m to get him ( compensation ) , but carry on .

Would bloom allow a new manager to have total control over all transfer transactions ? It doesn't happen like that now and pulis will find that out .

Pardew is a deeply unlikeable sleazy London spiv so in many ways suits Palace down to the ground.

Unfortunately it also looks like he is a good manager.

CPFC2010 need Pardew as the manager to entice Arab or Russian multi billionaires to buy the club from them to get a 300% return on their investments.

I agree based on championship revenue. However, I would expect greater flexibility with your earnings and as I recall the players pulis was after weren't bankrupt type players. You lot wasted a great deal of cash allowing Holloway his spending spree and then failing to back pulis in the same way.

They don't know how much Pardew will want to waste in this window yet.

If this is true I must agree..sadly. I didn't know Pards would be so costly. A few different results at Newky and he'd be free.
