Everton boss David Moyes is ready to splash the Andy Johnson transfer cash on Wagner Love. Johnson is heading to Fulham for £10.7million.

Every one of those stories is ludicrous. I'd love to know what Brian Clough, Bill Nicholson or Bill Shankly would have to say if they were still alive.

James Harper for £5 million!!!

We thought we'd done well to sell Bobby for £1.5million, 20% of which wasn't even ours.

It is madness. Basically now, if you've played in the Premier League, you are worth stupid money. What you actually did while you were there (ie got your team relegated) seems to matter less.

Andy Johnson - if he goes to Fulham for £10 1/2 mill that will be over £20million in fees for the bald twat, all because he had one good season for Palace in 2004/05 - unbelievable.

I also love the way players like Hleb keep bitching even after they've left, whilst the likes of Tevez and Drogba feel they can say what they like when they like.

In a year's time what will Hull be asking for Dean Windass? Will he be the UK's first £million plus 40 year old?

Easy, I'm just milking it before the season starts!

Some of these stories are simply incredible even by the standards of recent seasons.

Darts - now there's a good, honest, dramatic, exciting spectacle with decent sportsmanship, no cheating and players who REALLY need the money and care about what they do.

With even the promoted clubs seriously splashing out on transfer fees you have to hope budgets are being managed effectively.

I think West Brom have probably had the most sane approach over the last few years, they seem to trade very well and be in the running for premiership football every season one way or another.

How about this for a team of misfits and unproven Prem players - £107 million for a side that would be lucky to finish mid-table:

1. Robinson (£5 mill)
2. Chimbonda (£8 mill)
3. Behrami (£5 mill)
4. Curtis Davies (£8 mill)
5. Dossena (£7 million)
6. Harper (£5 mill)
7. Modric (£16.6 mill)
8. Muntari (£12.7 mill)
9. Elmander (£10 mill)
10. Jo (£19 mill)
11.Andy Johnson (£10.7 million)
