I can see Di Canio is trying to give some players a rocket to try and motivate them to up their game but the way he's banging on in public about them is making him look like a bit of a bellend. Not that he minds im sure! Makes for an interesting interview

Its very bad man-management. He should keep criticisms in the dressing room. Also - its one thing criticising an overall performance, but to criticise a single mistake, however bad, is ludicrous. Everyone makes them. His days are numbered - and hes really shot himself in the foot regarding future job prospects. What can a public criticism possibly do to help improve motivation?

So why do we slag off players so much ourselves? (Not having a go at you BTW!)

Bit different. We're not their bosses. We're commenting from the sidelines, and we are mostly ignored in the grand scheme of things.
