I always associate them with the Chocolate Box newsagents in Rottingdean, used to get a couple of packs after school, amazing stuff you remember, I was only 6 !!

Anyone remember the 'Star wars' cards you could buy (not stickers or album) in the 80s? About 5 in a pack and came with a bit of chewing gum - I can smell them now!

I do indeed - The first set was blue edged and the second set was red.

I seem to recall the jigsaw on the back was of the death star on one set and the iconic Chewie/Han picture on the other. I could be wrong on this though.

Yes I remember them well, on the back of the cards was a sorry of jigsaw which when put with other cards it created a scene from the film ! Oh and the chewing gum !!

Like so many things (such as my Spectrum, Commodore and Star Wars toys), I wish I'd held onto them!

My seven year old is doing this. I am so jealous. The joy on his face when my neighbour popped round on Sunday with a few packs and the first one was a shiner - it does not get better at seven. The last one I completed was probably 1988-89. I finally managed to get that last Falkirk sticker. It cost me all my swaps.

I have long had a theory that panini muck about with the distribution of stickers and that swapping round the country might be the best way. Obviously this proves nothing but I can't believe how many gaps these stickers fill. The Portugal swaps you have will all but fill my son's page. Odd. Let me know how many of his you need see above. Shame, I've got 3 boxes left from when I ordered a load for me and my mates. A couple of other NSCers have bought from me. If anyone wants one today at the game let me know and I'll bring them.

I've stuck 163 and only have 7 swaps so far from having a box. I've always found less swaps with a box which suggests Panini roughly distribute them throughout one. Might just be imagining it though
