I must have missed your posts last year complaining about the effect Bridge's enormous wage would have on the rest of the team.

Maybe he was thinking of his wages when Zaha nipped past him to head the ball into the net?

Actually that is a very good point and one that many a Palace fan made at the time, questioning how we could afford it.
I suppose when it was made known we were only paying him £10k per week and the rest paid by City, this may have been accepted by the rest of the players, as the club were not paying him higher than we were paying our own players .
So it would be interesting to know if Palace are paying him more than their own players and breaking their own wage scale.
If Chamakh performs for Palace as well as Bridge did for us at £10k per week then it is a very good deal. But if you are paying him the same as West Ham did with the same level of success then it could be costly for you.

Always amusing when someone is caught in a moment of utter hypocrisy :)

I've no doubt we'll only be part funding his wages, but personally I'm against such arrangements. The loan rules need revising anyway, but it is absurd when clubs can effectively get subsidised players. Doesn't matter if it's Cardiff with Bellemy, you with Bridge or us with Zaha, if you're taking a player on loan you should be made to pay for the full value of the player you are taking.

Potentially good signing however....

Chamakh was awful in an Arsenal side at the top of the table supplying him chance after chance. How he will fair in a side at the bottom when chances are at a premium will be interesting.

Quite. Are you getting Keith Andrew's name & number on your new shirt?

Inspiring huh?

No. Already got Calderon 14 , and that works for me

:lolol: I love how most of you take the piss out of us when things are not so rosy in you're own club.

As for the academy jibe, who was the last good player you produced?

Wayne Bridge learnt to love football again by playing for the Albion, but ****ed of at the first opportunity :lolol:

How is you're season going so far?

Telling that he only wanted to sign a 1 year contract with them.

We also wanted only a year, as frankly we won't be able to afford him next year if we go down (which in all probability we will). There is however an extension option which can be activated in the highly unlikely event that we stay up.

Absurdly good signing for a club like ours. Looking forward to seeing him play.

All these new players at the " 2bit " - where's their famous Academy now ? - is what I say.

What is the 2bit?

A good point about the Academy though Major. It's a real concern in the Prem, as frankly it is harder to blood our wealth of talented youngsters in the Premiership. Not only is the standard much higher, but as a club who will be in the thick of it at the bottom we will be less inclined to take risks.

Still, as under 21s don't count against our 25 man squad there are a fair few who have been given squad numbers and who I think we'll see something of during the season. Those not quite ready will, I'm sure, be given the opportunity to go out on loan to championship/league 1 clubs such as yourselves.

They took the piss out of us last year especially during our dodgy 9 game without a win streak and after the St Patrick's day massacre they were saying we wont make the play offs then the build up they all wanted to play Palace in the semi's already planning Wembley day out and how many they'd beat us by over 2 legs, even to the point of how many tickets they'd get for Wembley!!:nono: Where they'd be drinking :bla::ffsparr: I still have untold posts booked marked to remind them but because I got banned for 3 months the last time I resurrected a few I will just keep them to have a laugh from time to time.

When am feeling a bit down I just watch the youtube clips to cheer me up
