That 14k figure was before we signed the likes of CMS, Hoskins, Lua Lua and Buckley.

I'm sure we are making a profit, but how much is VERY difficult to say.

Do you not think Martin Perry was taking various budgets into account when making that comment?

The name gives it away
I thought the original 12k or 14k was when we thought we were going to have to borrow a shed load of money from the banks and pay bags of interest. As we didn't and got an intrest free loan, the breakeven figure might have been less.

However I think our outgoings have soared, (wages, staff numbers, security, ground upkeep, etc, etc), and I think that even on 20k we might not turn much of a profit.

It will be fun to see the first years accounts when there produced in a few months time.

I wasn't just talking about Palace's previous owners. How many other chairmen communicate with the fans in the way that ours do? How many of them respond to the feedback given (sometimes by dickheads) and actually make changes? How many chairmen are as open, honest and genuine as Steve Parish? How many of them are as financially sensible and are determined to make their club sustainable? ooh, ooh - None.

Just one. and his name is Tony Bloom

Crap Town
I think the original 12k/14k breakeven figure was to cover all outgoings including the mortgage repayments with a view to paying off the mortgage early when revenue streams from the Premier League flowed in. Now that TB has given us an interest free loan all the figures are meaningless.

How many of them are as financially sensible by not wasting a penny in a potless trainwreck like Palace? ooh, ooh - None.

Edited for Accuracy

Are they making a stadium out of scrap metal? Sounds about right

CPFC2010's Steve Parrish has said that they may have to use this place while work is done on the stadium... role reversal anyone!

Sort of, but not really comparable. Its just up the road from their current ground, and seats 15,000. Its a better stadium than Selhurst, frankly.

At least they might sell it out.

In relation to any profit from our Stadium, to balance us being above the break even number given by MP it is my understanding that the costs of running the stadium especially electricity have been quite a bit more then expected, although like has been said I'm sure it has all be factored in, and if it was a significant issue we probably would have seen a season ticket price increase.

The seaside.
I was told by the Palace REMF manager that the football club don't own the club shop.

In terms of bricks and mortar, or in terms of running it?

Nike (under the Just Sport brand) run the club shop on their behalf. It is I believe a condition of having Nike supply your kit these days that they run your club shop from top to bottom. See the likes of Barnsley, Oxford, York, Stockport, Doncaster, Lincoln, Palace, etc. Charlton handed over running of our club shop to them a couple of weeks ago.

Can't say I like the idea, but there must be financial benefits to it, and clubs presumably get their shop back when their shirt deal with Nike ends.

Their kit is not Nike, though.
