As I just said, potless clubs don't have a wage budget of a similar size to Leeds.
Leeds have fans, lots of paying fans. You have BOGOF, kids for a quid and bring your mate for half price.
Bye bye Chrystal Payless.

That's funny because I seem to remember you swearing blind that all Leeds needed to do was sign a replacement before he was released. Nice to know I can ignore all the other rubbish you post on this forum.

I did say that, because that was the case. It was widely assumed that the replacement was Varney, but it turns out that it wasn't, and Warnock either didn't get his man or was playing silly buggers with us.
Either way, Leeds accepted a bid for McCormack and he wanted to come. They changed their minds. Not much we can do about that.
Surely this fire-sale going on at Palace is going to put off any potential new signings of any quality
There could well be a loan player or two, I don't know. As for bargain bin, I doubt it. They're looking for "the right player for the club". It's quite possible that we're looking abroad though, as a couple of our best players have been relative unknowns outside their own country.
We've got a few fantastic players, a few good players and a lot of average players. They're trying to add quality up top, and I doubt it'll be found in the "bargain bin".
That doesn't explain why we have the same wage budget as Leeds though, does it?

You said numerous times that it was a done deal? Did you not?

I never said that was a done deal. I said it was very likely that he would sign for us, he wanted to come and that Leeds had accepted our bid.
All of that was true. Leeds changed their minds at the last minute, which is why he is not currently a Palace player. We are still interested in signing him.
Funny I thought he sounded like he wanted to stay at Leeds unless I am missing something?
"Everyone knows there has been offers for me which have come into the club, and the club have turned them down," McCormack told the club's official website. "I'm just waiting on an offer of a new contract and we'll take it from there.
"I've said from day one, I've got a house here, I've got an eight-month old baby, my missus is happy here, and my choice would be to stay at Leeds so hopefully the offer is one that I think is acceptable."
No , they still have F.Y.P , it now stands for Fifty Year Plan.
That was said after Leeds had changed their minds and decided to keep him. I don't think it's very likely that he'd come out and say that he wanted to leave when he's probably going to be a Leeds player next season.
It's quite clear and apparent to any sensible person that Palace are severely struggling financially, you only have to read any of the most recent articles on that media behemoth The Croydon Advertiser to find both Parish and poor hapless dim Dougie bemoaning the clubs finances and the fact they don't have much to spend and things are tight. in fact all they ever seem to go on about is money so it clearly is a key issue and the facts are they don't really have much and are in desperate times. Put into context of the Championship where the majority of clubs are in a better position than them and with the lack of any players coming into Palace it is difficult to see anything other than a very challenging season for our 12 fingered cousins. I genuinely think they will hover in or around the bottom six all season. happy days.
