Funding it by loans will also be very expensive now with increasing interest costs. Base rate now 4% higher than 2 years ago.
£150m to build a stand when the Amex cost was £93m. Wow.

When first announced in Dec 2017 the cost estimate was £75m to £100m. Now £150m.

The entire Amex [as was at the Doncaster opener] cost £93m including planning battles, traffic infrastructure.
Thanks for posting that piece from "inside croydon" it made interesting reading.
So it would appear that they have paid sainsburys and moved some local residents but still do not have a definite starting date. All the while projected costs are spiralling and the "vision" remains just that. To me it all seems a bit HS2 ! Just waiting for the announcement that they will not be able, for cost reasons, to complete the whole stand but have firmly committed to half of it!
