I’d like us to reassert ourselves in the league and get back into the top 6 or 7. For that reason, I’ll be very disappointed if we don’t win on Saturday. Nothing to do with Palace in particular, except that they’re yet another mid/lower table side we should be beating. I’ve never been very interested in the rivalry which has always struck me as a bit tinpot as rivalries go. I suppose a repeat of the embarrassing mass wailing and chest-beating on NSC is another reason to hope for an Albion win though at least I can just avoid the place for a while.

As someone said, perhaps it’s an age thing but I seem to get over most bad stuff quickly, compared to when I was a kid.

Neither here nor there
Spoke to a very knowledgeable Palace fan yesterday who feels they'll be very lucky to get anything out of this game.

I tried to cheer him up by promising that they'll definitely score. But beyond that, I don't really know what to expect. Probably a draw.

This fixture used to give me a knot in my stomach but these days it's just another game that I want us to win, if I'm honest.

OK, i'm a little scared yes.

We're the better side obviously

I just think, they've got their big players back and we haven't. Our best players are still away, injured or a little off form.

Add to that, the normal Palace luck they get against us, my levels of confidence have taken a considerable dive on this one.

No.

Whatever happens on Saturday (and I think we'll win) we are MILES ahead of them in every aspect.

Chairman/Owner
CEO
Manager
Ground (apart from their new stand of course...)
Squad
League position
Still in FA Cup

Plus the fact we are playing in Europe, enjoying some fabulous trips and cities - something they can only dream about.

Add in the fact that their American owners want out - our future is assured - their's is an uncertain mess.

I always worry before home games. If Palace defend deep and hit on the break, we could be looking at another big defeat. A few weeks ago I’d have expected us to win but now …

"Let's beat the crap out of Palarse" just doesn't have the same meaning that it used to have.

Maybe because it actually has happened.
