They’re certainly throwing the cash around on some decent players, I suspect the non existent wage structure is ever growing.
Personally I think the biggest question mark will be Viera who was awful at Nice despite having the second largest spend in Ligue 1.

It looks like they have the £80m quoted rather than the £50m so I would guess another couple of signings going their way plus a couple of loan signings. At least we wont have to listen to their "but you spend a lot more money than us" argument anymore (of course it means they now have ambition). I do think they are about to find out just how good Roy Hodgson was.

Their Olise buy was good for the price they paid but the other two ain't exactly discounted.

We've seen this so often; buying players randomly but not building a team, bringing in players that'll add to the squad you have and bring out the best in other players, that's the real art in football.

They will sign a number of proven players to secure top-flight survival.

They will pay over the odds and stay up.
If it ever goes wrong they will be ****ed, but all the time it works, they won't change tack.

they don't have time to do it properly though. I predict a slow start to the season. Then we see if the owners will hold their nerve or if they jump back into the survival spiral.

Big gamble for me, I much prefer our way of doing things.

One of my favourite moments in the Amazon series was Parish talking about their promotion season and referencing the financial aspect.
He said something along the lines of "It wouldn't have been very responsible of me, having just rescued the club from the brink, to spend more than we could afford."
Then Freedman moans at him about not having the players he needed. Parish admits they don't have the money, but decides to spend more than they have to gamble on promotion.

He's been doing it ever since.
8 years and £1billion later - they are having to break the bank because they don't have enough players.

Joachim Anderson signed !!

Splashing the cash.

Think they've got enough to stay up now sadly.

He was one of Fulham’s best players but they did get relegated by a mile. He also seriously lacks pace which could be an issue if Vieira tries to get palace playing higher up the pitch.

What makes you think Vieira has any intention to play them higher up the pitch?
He's Roy II, that's why they appointed him.

At the precise moment in time when palace could have changed their ethos, they haven't.

Oh come off it!
They've clearly demonstrated their attacking intent with their signings (two centre-halfs and an injured AM).
The new tactics are paying off, they've already ground Ipswich town into the ground in pre-season (0-1 Zaha (pen))

No way they're going to rely on the old boring tactics of Roy.

THE SHACKLES ARE OFF!!

You know what else we've seen so often?

Us outplaying them for 90 mins only for them to sneak a winner or for them to finish above us?

Have faith, this is our season!

For sure, but there’s a very deliberate overhaul of their squad going on this summer, they released lots of players that were either old or on big money. They’ve signed Guehi (21) and Olise (19) who look like they could have excellent futures, the Joachim Anderson for £20m is very smart, he was brilliant for Fulham last season. Obviously it’ll take time for these players to settle, adapt and learn new systems etc but if they can settle in quickly they could have a decent team, though it may be a case of strong first XI but little depth, but that’s to be expected with the overhaul that’s happening.

No them finishing above us.

So let's celebrate those after its happened not before, or for that matter, during not before.

just think they need to maintain defensive structure and toughness cos never going to create enough going forward.

similar to burnley in that regard but at least CP buy new players every now and again.
