I think it's just excitement.

We've spent most of the last decade in the Premier League. The first few years were a real rollercoaster; we were short of talent but had character and grit in abundance. The likes of Jedinak and Delaney would run through walls to steal a point away from home, and would throw themselves in front of shots for 90 minutes to hold on to all three at Selhurst against sides far better funded. Nobody expected us to stay up, but we did, and we kept doing it. We looked more adventurous under Pardew, and tried something different with De Boer (let's not go there), but our main objective in every single season has been to grind out enough points to survive. If things weren't looking good at Xmas we'd sack the manager and bring in another 4-4-2 playing Brexiteer who would celebrate a dull one nil victory with a pint of red wine.

Under Roy we had a far more gifted squad, but it always felt like they were playing within themselves. The likes of Zaha and Eze are a joy to watch, but they have been caged by the rigid structure and discipline required in a Hodgson system. We could have stuck with Roy for another year (and in twelve months time we might well wish we had, because he's as close to a guarantee of survival as you can get in this division) but *by god* it was boring towards the end. The game at the Amex last season was a fantastic result for us, and I was ecstatic with the ending, but I didn't get any enjoyment out of the first ninety five minutes. We were sleepwalking to safety every season and it just wasn't very much fun.

Now we're undergoing a massive rebuild, we've got a new manager who will have his own ideas and a new style, and there's a buzz about the place. Nobody knows what's going to happen next. Our new signings could hit the ground running, we could see Zaha unshackled and thriving, we could be booking our flights for a European tour, or it could be a complete disaster with us relegated by Xmas. The only thing we know for sure is that it's not going to be so bloody boring any more, and I'm all for it.

We have trimmed the wage bill massively and I think after a few years of not spending big, this summer we will go exactly that.

As I said, we are saving millions on the wage bill.

Tv revenue and funds from our American owners prob makes up the rest.

I said nothing about the stand though, that's obviously on the back burner for now.

And? RB Salzburg have a superb reputation when it comes to spotting and nurturing players.

The likes of Haaland, Mane, Upamecano and Szobozlai all came off their production line. You should look the club up, it's most interesting.

From the targets your mate listed, I don't think it's possible, considering you have spent some of that on 2 players already?

You do realise transfer fees ( ours especially) are paid over the duration of the contracts signed . Our last 2 signings have signed 5 year contracts, you do the math.
