It's a little earlier than usual, but it's still probably time for the annual NSC hibernation of @Dougie.

See you in the Spring!

A few more defeats over the next weeks, and they will be bringing Roy back, to steady the ship with ultra defensive football.

Couldn't help but have a satisfying scroll through Palace Twitter after that, and I really do recommend it. The best bits:

(1) Mateta, after his goalscoring run at the end of last season and during the Olympics when playing against a load of U23s, was getting some stick. Hopefully his hot streak turns out to be the same as Almiron's of October 2022, and he reverts to his clumsy old goal-shy self in no time.

(2) Edouard is still terrible

(3) Guehi had a horrible game, so plenty of them are saying. That potential move getting to him?

(4) Kamada, their new signing from Italy, has performed badly in both games so far. The Selhurst Mo Dahoud?

(5) Their transfer window has been a total bin fire, with three key players sold and the ones coming in not setting hearts racing to date. Let's hope any good players see the start they've made and the fact they're having to sell and go "yeah, no thanks".

(6) One of the American investors is so underwhelmed by owning Palace, he's thinking of putting his money in <checks notes> EVERTON

However, I don't want Palace fans to be thinking it's all doom and gloom just yet, so here are a few positives for them to take from the results so far.

(1) You've got a new eagle, to replace the one that died

(2) The AUs must still have the PARISH OUT YANKS OUT banners from February, which will save them a whole lot of time having to make new ones

(3) Uncle Roy is still available, and waiting by the phone.

They aren't the ones they win though - they generally spawn fluky points against teams above them.

The season's looking bright for them then, because everyone's above them

Scouse colleague at work reckons Liverpool are sniffing around Wharton…..
If they were to lose Guehi and Wharton next week………..

They don't need the money so I don't see why they'd sell both
