Cut-out-and-keep guide to Palace fans ‘Spiral of Europa League Dismay’ - 2023 Edition:

Stage 1
“Well, they won’t qualify for Europe.”

Stage 2
“Ha. Well, at least they’ll get torn a new one and finish last.”

Stage 3
“f*** it. Well they won’t win their group.”

Stage 4
“FFS. Just so long as they don’t end up with the overall top scorer in the group stages.”

Dearly me.

It’s looking bleak for them.

Let’s hope agent Zaha gets snubbed out in the next round of the only competition that matters for our rivalry now.

With the PR narrative being we are seeking £45m from investors for the new stand, have any palace fans called out the claim that the funds were ringfenced or are they’ve now claiming an additional £45m is needed for the stand?

Seems odd to not publicly question, unless you don’t want to accept the likely answer

Yes, I posted a link to a CP forum thread the other day, where universally they all called the ring fenced funds story bullsh1t.

It makes total sense that the cost of building would have gone up considerably in the 7 years since the idea was proposed.
But that isn't the reason they're talking about needing extra funds.

Their owners could easily fund it, if they felt there was any value in doing so.
It has always been PR bullshit.

Yes but surely if the ring fenced money had been invested wisely it would cover the additional required.

The investment left for Turkey on a free transfer.

They do things differently to us, up there.

Stop ….. Palace, we won the Group of Death, we’re feared in Europe, we’re building something really special and living the dream. You’re not even feared in South London, you can’t build a stand and living a nightmare!

I suspect that if you invest funds, they aren't technically "ring-fenced".
Which comes back to the point that it's bullshit. The Americans can afford to fund it if they wanted to.

Instead of using the term, they should have pledged a commitment to fund the new stand.
That's what the fans took away from the statement, but it turns out to not be the case.
