It won't last. Of course it won't last.

Eventually the top clubs will find a way to protect themselves against our model.
Or we will run out of prospects to sign, or someone will come along with a better idea.

But we will enjoy it while it works.
I suspect our model may have a bit more legs in it than throwing £10m a year at a 31 year old, who is starting to show signs of ageing.

Back to Zaha, no disputing he's a good player and would be a welcome addition to most club's.
I think one concern is fitness, the last couple of seasons he's picked up injuries and started missing a few games. Would he be a gamble for a long term contract missing say ten games per season.

A massive difference is they changed owners and direction, then turned to shit.

Anyone who knows anything about football, and don't have an agenda, can see this.

It's lazy and wishful thinking to compare us to them.

To be fair the comparison is that when our owner changes things may go south for us. For me it is the only change that will cause major problems for us and I don't see it happening any time soon. We don't need outside investment, he is unlikely to get bored of the project or sick of bankrolling it and may well stay owner for his entire lifetime.

It was also a change in ownership that did for Swansea.

I was very wrong about Potter leaving us for Chelsea. I believed he was too smart to chuck in a perfect scenario for him, for the lure of a big 6 club.
But I genuinely can't see him risking it at Palace.
It really isn't the sort of club that would suit him and he is likely to be sacked at the first run of bad results.
Similarly why would Cooper jump from a club which has backed him during the bad times to one which won't?

I'd rather have had the highs and lows of the 10 years that these clubs have had in the Premier League than finish mid-lower table on 40 something points EVERY year, even if it has ended in relegation for 2 of them this year. It's not as if they can't get promoted back within the next couple of seasons anyway.

Palace have just been existing in the Premier League with never even a sniff that they might break the top-6 monopoly and qualify for Europe.

I can't see the Potter/Palace fit either, they're just not patient enough when things go awry. No way he would've survived the period he had at the Albion with the winless home form there. I could see Potter/Leeds, the Chairman would really really like to play his style, just got a bit too panicky with the end of Bielsa instead of holding firm.

Can't see Cooper staying at Forest. No way their Chairman is going to be as patient next season as this one. He'll have unrealistic expectations next season and even though they done us, that squad isn't good enough to do it.

Enjoy this season but don’t all of a sudden lord over all the teams below.

You don't need to be in the Premier League to reach the later stages of the FA Cup.

10 years of lower table mediocrity must be boring as hell. We may have only finished 3 points ahead last year, but at least we broke the 50 point threshold, and in only our 5th season as well. This year, we're on the verge of something you can only dream of.

You're really scraping the barrel with age-group results. All decent level youngsters go out on loan to 2nd or 3rd tier team. That's if they don't make the step straight into the senior squad, like Ferguson.

Face the fact: Palace are going nowhere.
