Leads me to think of the last time Palace done the double over us in the top league?

That’s an interesting question so I googled it, never in the top league , but what was quite interesting and I could be wrong but we have only played each other 14 times in the top league.

It's quite a while in any league though isn't it?

It’s my understanding that the club is in discussions with the council over a CPO, which will be a political decision in most peoples eyes.

Given that the article speaks only of negotiations between the football club and Sainsburys, where would your understanding be coming from? The Section 106 agreement with the local council will presumably involve Palace forking over cash for local infrastructure as developers are usually required to do, but I've seen nothing to suggest that the council will wade into a financial negotiation between Palace and Sainsburys by using a CPO to sway negotiations in Palace's favour. It strikes me that this could open up the council to the kind of legal challenge from a large business that councils are typically risk averse enough to avoid. It sounds to me like rumour based on fan wishes, but you may have something more concrete.

They could do what Spurs did. Just burn sainsburys down like the factory at Spurs. Only issue is would they burn the right building

Did your research tell you the last time you did it in any division? 90 years is it?

Palace are often "in duscussion" about things.

Agreed, and for the ground redevelopment, there has been loads of reported duscussion(sic) that have gone absolutely nowhere.

Sainsbury's are not without a say in this matter.

Again, agreed, it’s their land and they are perfectly entitled to value it however they want to do the best for themselves. I’d do the same in their position.

I'm not entirely sure the council would see placing a CPO on Sainsbury's as the best move in this little fracas.

And that’s where we disagree, the redevelopment project is important to the districts regeneration plans, not least due to a seven figure CIL payment. That’s why the council appear willing to consider a CPO as the best move for the the area’s benefit/regeneration.

Lets see what actually happens shall we.

Not much else we can do really. :)

I know it’s more that a fan based rumour, and you’re right in that the CIL is that is focusing minds.

Croydon Council are, once again, potentially facing bankruptcy. The council is in a dispute with its auditors over how £73 million was recorded in the council’s accounts between 2019-2021. If it turns out to be wrong, the council could be at risk of issuing another section 114 notice, declaring effective bankruptcy. Again.

On the bankruptcy issue, I’m beginning to wonder if it’s something in the local water.

No I can’t say it really bothers me that TBH. But looking there are many many years we did not play each other because palace were in higher divisions.

Somewhat true in more recent times as we slid the leagues due to financial mismanagement (as you should have done - twice). Not for the vast majority of the time though during which i think we managed it 9 or 10 times since then.

Fair point - sometimes we forget about the cheating and subsequent admins.

Palace will tell you it never happened

In fairness they were going to offer a full apology, but, in line with their fiscal compensation, only offered 10% of it.
