Whenever the tickets get sold it's not a financial thing more an I want an Albion fan in the seat, greater good thing and all that. As my wife would say, I was premature in this case.

Talking of the wife, she has now gone out on the piss - having done dry January - and will come back smashed, not function tomorrow and would now give me another argument for changing plans (again) which is a 300 mile round trip for me. If I could also miss any game home or away I'd choose Palace so I'm not too upset. We are doing Spurs and Sheffield Utd so I'm happy to take the hit.
There are tickets still available, you can literally go into the north stand and chat rather than being on the north stand chat and chatting about your wife not letting you go.

Hate is an emotive word. Sometimes even dangerous. It means something more than dislike. I lived in Germany and Switzerland for a number of years, and very quickly learnt that it’s not a word to use lightly, especially when talking about people and people-based entities like football clubs and political parties. There are cultural/historical reasons why Germans steer clear of it, and that’s stayed with me. I think it’s often used innocently - "I hate broccoli" - but for me it’s best not to use it when talking about people, even Palace fans or their club. YMMV.
Good for you.

AN APOLOGY:
A couple of comments I posted last night were in drink, it’s certainly not my style to comment who IS an Albion fan and who isn’t.

The gist that I have a football related let’s say dislike of Palace as a club and see them as my most sought after victory of the season remains and always will do, in my mind anyway.

I could have been a bit more respectful on here in my wording.

RDZ is such a massive factor in the players confidence.
I can't help but feel his disatisfaction with the window, will transfer to the players.

I cannot see anything but a palace win today.

No. Still not feeling it.

Perhaps a rendition of 'what shall we do with the Palace supporter?' will lift my spirits?

Thank you for your heartfelt contribution.
I take it you're not keen on Palace.
Me neither.

Do you have access to a light aircraft?
And
You do know they're not going to be in?

Sometimes when we go horribly wrong after RDZ, the next game we come flying back and batter someone.

Have I just made that up or do the stats back it up?

After we got smashed at home by Everton last year, we smashed Arsenal at the Emirates in the next game

After losing at home to West Ham this season we smashed Newcastle in the next game and then smashed Man Utd at Old Trafford

Beware the wounded animal

I'm at about 4/10 in terms of the usual concoction of excitement/dread/cynical pessimism.

This was discussed in the Mods WhatsApp group last night - I said then, and it's still the case now, that I'm calm and optimistic.

I think we'll see a reaction after Tuesday, and there can be no better occasion.

Albion win by 2 or 3.

I'm pretty much fed up with this rivalry at the moment. The fact that it always seems to make Palace raise their game and draw on all their reserves of luck when they play us just makes it more difficult to get valuable points off an extremely mediocre team. I can work up a bit of mild dislike for them, but I don't hate Palace or their genuine fans (as opposed to the stupid teenagers in black) because like us, they support their local club when it would be much easier to hunt empty glory north of the Thames. I want today out of the way as painlessly as possible and any win, however ugly, will be a bonus.

I completely misjudged it.

In fairness I firmly believed that both Eze and Olise would be available, and our sloppiness would be exposed.
I was relieved when the line up was announced.

Palace really are a very poor team.
They will stay up of course, but they need to make some radical changes before the start of next season.
