Did I read the other day that Cristiano Ronaldo has more hat-tricks this season than Chamakh has had shots?

That's a bit unfair. Gayle is their TOP STAR with ... er ... two whole goals. And Chamakh has got one.

Thirteen games into the season, who could expect better?

Two whole goals for Gayle , as much as that . Certainly better than 4 half ones .
Must be worth 50 million by now

I don't know about today, but prior to today, Ronaldo had 5 hat-tricks this season (club and country) and Chamakh had 3 shots on target.

According to ESPNSoccernet
This season
3 shots (2 on target) - 1 goal

Last Season (2012-13)
West Ham 5 shots (2 on target) - 0 Goals
Arsenal 0 Shots - 0 Goals

2011-12
Arsenal 8 Shots (2 on target) - 1 Goal

2010-11
Arsenal 52 (21 on target) - 7 goals

Ronaldo has scored 24 hat-tricks in his career. 16 of them since the start of the 2011/12 season. So, he has more hat-tricks than Chamakh has shots over the past three years. Ronaldo has also scored more hat-tricks than Chamakh has scored Premier league goals.

In all seriousness, games against Norwich and Sunderland should be the games that palace have to get points from.

Here is your question for £40,000 (a week).

Why did Marouane Chamakh go from looking world-class in the French League to playing like a pub league player:

a). The standard of the French league is equivalent to that of a pub league
b). He doesn't give a shit about playing football at all, let alone playing for a Crippled Phallus
c). The real Marouane Chamakh was taken hostage at Calais and replaced by an Algerian refugee on his way over in the back of an Iceland lorry

Any of a) , b) or c) , could be correct .:D

They've got to play

Chelsea, Man City & Newcastle (home & away)
Arsenal, Everton, Spurs, Swansea (all away)

That's 10 games where they won't get a single point which leaves them with 15 other games (which include Liverpool & Man Utd) where they need to pick up at least 28 points -ain't gonna happen!

Effectively relegated by Christmas - :xmas:

The standard of the French league was certainly much worse then than it is now.. Bordeaux won it on the last day of the season, really in a 'pocket' between the waning of Lyon who had won the title for seven consecutive seasons, and the rebirth of PSG and, much more recently, Monaco. But even at the time, there were many better strikers in Ligue 1:

Position Player Nationality Club Goals
1 André-Pierre Gignac France Toulouse 24
2 Karim Benzema France Lyon 17
- Guillaume Hoarau France PSG 17
4 Michel Bastos Brazil Lille 14
- Ireneusz Jeleń Poland Auxerre 14
- Steve Savidan France Caen 13
7 Fernando Cavenaghi Argentina Bordeaux 13
- Marouane Chamakh Morocco Bordeaux 13
- Mamadou Niang Senegal Marseille 13
10 Yoann Gourcuff France Bordeaux 12
11 Mevlüt Erdinç Turkey Sochaux 11
- Kevin Gameiro France Lorient 11
- Youssouf Hadji Morocco Nancy 11
- Loïc Rémy France Nice 11

Arsene Wenger makes duff signings from time to time, it happens. Remember Andre Santos (sp?) that played LB vs us last season?

Any other season Palace and Sunderland would be about a dozen points adrift by now. So many shit teams in that division they should just dispense with the play-offs and make it six up six down
