I genuinely have undertaken all my own dentistry for the past 40 years and still have a full set of my own teeth

i have even done some work on other peoples teeth when they could not find or afford to visit a dentist

I had some health issues when I was a child. This resulted in my adult teeth growing through with decay. As such, I've only got 19 left, of which two are permanent implants, 4 are crowns and all but I think 2 have had root canals. Despite that, I don't mind going to the dentist. The Brighton Implant Clinic in Hove are excellent and I cannot recommend them highly enough. I even had a consultation about putting some of my "lost" teeth back and they were more concerned on looking after the ones I had left. Always nice when they don't just take your money.

But, kids, look after your teeth. You'll miss them when they're gone and they are so expensive to repair/replace.

I was attacked a year ago and to cut a long story short ended up losing two front teeth. I had dentures for 9 months and hated it... getting implants was such a relief! It cost me £3,500 to get the two, but if you can afford it then I would do it.

I had an implant on the bottom set at the back about 10 years ago aged 50.
To replace wisdom tooth plus the one next to it that had been lost.
Was expensive but best decision ever. Perfectly natural, forget it is there

All my own teeth, no fillings, never had one. Also still have my wisdoms. I snapped a canine in half, but there was enough to fashion a false one and cement it to the broken tooth.

Around 7 years ago I had the choice of dentures or a Bridge and some implants and a cost of 7k which felt very painful at the time but it turns out was the best money I have ever spent. People now compliment me on how good my teeth look and I can eat all the foods I enjoy.
If you have the money then use it on keeping your teeth good and you won't regret it. Sadly my Mother never invested her money in looking after her teeth and has found out now that she can't even wear dentures anymore recently due to the bones in her gums basically disintegrate as you get into your eighties.

Still got my own teeth, only ever had 1 filling, however 1 front tooth has a dead nerv, so going off colour Dad 85 still has his own teeth, his mum died at 94 with her own teeth.

I'm a (relative to most on NSC) sprightly 44 though, so plenty of time for my smugness to turn into cavities and a smile like a row of condemned houses...

I had all my teeth removed in a car accident and what was left by a surgeon in a dentist chair a few months later. Had dentures since I was 31 years old. They cost about £200 on the NHS and honestly look way better than my real teeth ever looked. People have often complimented me on my smile and been shocked when I tell them it's all fake. This may sound mental, but I love my dentures and I'd recommend them to anyone. No faffing about at dentists ever again and it would have ended up like this in the end anyway, so why not just get it over and done with early.

I have all my own teeth except for three that were pulled out about 40 years ago due to a fear of dentists not helped by the Marathon Man film, so I didn’t go for 10 years, hence the problems. BUT for an old man my remaining teeth look fecking good with a few crowns and root canal treatments. I have a dentist who makes appointments for me every six months because if it was left to me I know I wouldn’t make them

I must just be lucky, 55, but a lorry driver so fizzy drinks, sweets, chocolate, cake, puddings, coffee all part and parcel of the job. I put my luck down to good oral hygiene. Clean my teeth 3 times a day and floss regularly.

I’ve just spent close to £1500 on 5 x visits to the dentist. Haven’t been since lockdown and previous to that the last hygienist I saw must be 5 years ago.
Previous visit to the hygienist consisted of about 20 minutes rooting about down your gums with no anaesthetic, which kinda put me off going, so changed dentist and what a difference.
They split your mouth into 4 x parts and take an hour to thoroughly clean each part per visit. Every time they give you anaesthetic so you don’t feel a thing.
last visit was to change 2 x old silver fillings with new and they look like proper teeth, can’t even tell there’s fillings there.
Originally when I got the quote, I thought sod that but then realised I wanted nice teeth for the rest of my life and would happily pay that for a weeks holiday somewhere. Worth every penny!

I can only tell you my experience when aged 65 I had lost various teeth over the years and the rest had fillings of some sort. I was driven to do something as I could not chew my food. So as I was quoted £30,000 here to fix the lot I had to look abroad. I found a decent price in India. I had most of the work done there and would have returned but the Pandemic happened so I finished the work in Turkey. I am a very satisfied customer. I have a normal-looking balanced mouth and can chew again. The total cost of a full mouth of crowns, implants, and a couple of bridges pus travel, food, and accommodation. £8000

possibly due to a childhood filled with Herbert fountains and dips I have had loads of fillings and extractions over the years and was also unfortunate enough to have a couple of rear teeth roots overlapping themselves and had to be removed. I ended up with chewing on the right side of my mouth so was compelled to think about saving them by having an implant where I lost the two back teeth. Had it a couple of years ago and it’s been a success - its just like a normal tooth and had allowed me to chew normally, despite not having any of the ones right at the back.
