Didn't Hawkins thump in a header that year in the pre season at Worthing? You've got to smile when you watch this, but at the time, stroll on!

I couldn't pick one, quite simply two of the worst own goals I've ever seen. The first one reminded me of that Terry Connor one (at Norwich?). Edges it slightly on the spectacular front, the second one scores highly on crass stupidity. Two gems of the species.

I might have to go and look for that Ian Chapman one now on youtube...

You're a man of your time Tooting. I remember both of those. The Connor one was HILARIO and luckily it didn't mean much as we lost 3-0. And anyway, we (nearly) ALWAYS lose at the carrot crunchers. A quite majestic BULLET header right into the top corner of OUR onion bag.

I can't see YT at work, but I'm assuming the Chappers one was that quality finish from 6 inches out, after Gordon Strachan had inexplicably squared it into our box instead of lashing it in. It was such a poor quality own goal that you'd assume it was from a pub second XI match where some of the players had already been sick from the previous night's drinking.
