So, if Bloom and Owen were seen leaving a Hotel together it must mean they are having an affair.

first murray goes, now we dont get owen

poyet and bloom both need to take a long hard look at themselves and question whether they are the men to be leading us in the championship

Is that a pop at Newcastle? Seems a bit harsh.

I'm still intrigued to know what the basis for those 5/6 Skybet odds were.

Personally, as a Michael Owen fan it's disappointing that his Newcastle experience seems to have turned him off proper football. Like David Beckham and the ambassadorial role he craves Owen has opted for the fat contract so he can indulge his real passion for horses. There's no doubt that a fit, motivated Owen could have taken a second tier club like Spurs, Villa or Everton up to that next level.

Villa were the natural fit - Owen, Bent, Young and Downing would have been a potent force and, had the manager position been sorted and with the Gary McAllister Liverpool link, an interesting proposition.
