Have to say I agree with Kings Of Leon, last two albums were good, but their new one is safe radio freindly bilge.

Me, never understand why people rave over Pete Doherty / Libertines, and I've never 'got' Bloc Party either

I have nothing to catch up on mate, your list just proves my point, great pop songs. I have nothing against the Beatles they wrote nice songs pehaps its just our different perception of innovative.
You're missing a point here - Let's spend the night together, Honky Tonk Woman, Paint it Black, etc. are nice Pop songs (well, maybe noy quite 'nice', but Pop songs, anyway) - as is the entire output of Take That, Britney Spears, Madonna, etc, etc, etc. Three chords (or not a lot more) and a hook.

The Beatles were musically far more sophisticated, and lyrically explored themes and areas that were ground breaking in their day.

Dont start a Beatle versus Stones debate because 1) we have done it to death and it was agreed the Stones where a class apart and 2) That tosser man of harveys will come on here talking about those mediocre scousers.
