He says we are heading towards 20,000 already, with three weeks to go. That seems to mean that it is approaching 20,000 sales now, with still plenty of time to go.
I think that the game is on tv and that many a season ticket holder can live without a glamour tie live might well have different bums on seats and perhaps less of an atmosphere than usual, but that's no bad thing. Demand should grow with a half-decent performance and a satisfying experience for new visitors to the ground. I'll be sat on my couch with a cold brew and a giant bowl of doritos and cannae wait for that either.

It was noticeable yesterday that the ticket exchange had worked and there were a lot of fans there who needed guidance to their seats. Encouraging that there is still a surplus fanbase to be attracted - or exploited (as many on here would have it)

We have more fans than you think strikes to mind. (A fan in this case being someone who will pay to watch us live - not someone who went to gillingham or Withdean for years)

No their argument was the ticket prices were too costly and the major point the game is on tv. Don't go back peddling for them.

This club is slowly going in one direction. Don't let some of the numpties on here try and convince you otherwise.

My point was, if the tickets were a little cheaper then it would enable more of the real fans, ie season ticket holders or those that go to as many games as they can afford, to go. Just because some plastic glory-hunter fan will jump in your seat if we`re playing a Premier league team doesn`t mean the club should charge as much as they can get away with. I am not complaining personally as I am in the 1901 so it doesn`t cost me any more. I just don`t like seeing many of the true fans being priced out. The club needs to look after the season ticket holders because the plastics won`t be so keen to take your seat for the bread and butter league games such as Barnsley and the like.

A game like this gives the Club the opportunity to turn some of your 'plastics' into real fans.
If they like what they see when they come along for this game, they'll come back. I'm sure a lot of 'true fans' started watching The Albion this way!

Yes, I do understand that! BUT... I still think that for many of our fans, shelling out to watch Brighton week in, week out is very tough at the moment and it`s a shame that if they are season ticket holders, they have to pay more than they usually do to sit in their regular seat and watch the Newcastle game. i think they should have been offered their seats at the regular price they pay, then if they don`t want to or can`t afford to go, bring on the plastics at full whack!

The Season ticket is for League games only.

The only way the club would include Cup games at the 'reduced' Season Ticket price would be if it became compulsory to buy those tickets, guaranteeing that income for the club. There would no doubt be more fans upset at that decision, than the decision to sell tickets (with the choice to buy or not) at the normal price.

100% I have gone from one season ticket at withdean to three at falmer as alot of others have done, although good value its still a big financial commitment each month.
Looking at the price for my seat we have reluctantly decided to watch this one on tv and spend the cash travelling up to Blackburn.Glad that the crowd will still be good but a little annoyed that we have been priced out:(

Being priced out? It's costing you more money for your day out going to Blackburn then buying a home cup ticket against a Premiership side. :ffsparr:

It would be hilarious if we get to Wembley and the club announce a priority for supporters who attended the 3rd round fixture over those who chose to watch it at home

cannot possibly be a decent crowd when the great and good of NSC have declared otherwise........ how dare you suggest that they could have got it wrong or - dare one say it - over reacted :lolol:

I think it was one of our good Palace friends that said the attendance would be below 17,000.

Now has Mr Barber said we have "sold over 20,000 tickets " or "approaching 20,000 tickets" ? as there is a world of differnce between the two.
