Agree entirely.
One of the stewards escorted us into the concourse yesterday for a pee for my 6yo. Silly there's no facilities when they've spent a fortune getting outdoor bars, music etc

Nice idea, guys, but I don't imagine for one second it'll ever happen. I can't remember ever seeing toilets located outside a football ground (as in, ones owned by the club, rather than public facilities). If somebody else can provide evidence to the contrary, then fine.

Whilst there's outside catering at the Amex these days, firstly it's clearly temporary (i.e. mobile vans) and secondly, there's no seated area for customers to eat in, so no requirement for them to supply toilets. They'd presumably also have to apply for planning permission if they wanted to put up any sort of permanent toilet arrangement outside. Maintaining and cleaning outside facilities would be more of a pain in the arse to the club, especially if they had to be open to the general public on non-match days. Imagine the state after Freshers' Week at the university...

The cold hard facts are, it's not in the Albion's interest to have you hanging around outside the ground for hours: ultimately, they want you inside, spending your hard earned in the food and drink concessions. Ergo, they're not going to provide any facilities outside that might cause you to linger.

Nice idea about the temporary urinals: doesn't really help women though, does it? :) You're just going to have to learn to plan your journeys a bit better, chaps

This doesn't really make sense - it's exactly what they want fans to do before the game, hence the Harveys bar, music, fish & chips etc etc

Early 70s they had a gents in the corner with no roof and a five foot wall - you could watch the game having a p*ss.
Thanks! I'm getting old, not only do I need a toilet pronto before the match but my memory isn't what it used to be. [emoji22]

My cycle helmet's always locked up to my bike in the Amex racks if you're ever desperate Jon. It holds about 1.5 litres of fluid so should be fine for your needs.

Err, Reading's Elm Park as I recall, you could stand at the back of the away terracing and look down upon those taking a leak. I certainly do not remember the loos in our old North Stand not even having a roof.

The East Terrace toilets at the Goldstone certainly did not have a roof. I should know, the match ball landed at my feet as I was getting rid of five pints of King and Barnes Sussex.

I'll bet there are plenty of fans who have to go in for a wee rather than mosying round the club shop and buying stuff. Cleaning and maintenance wouldn't be a real problem as there are already many that need the job doing. Surely the answer is to put toilets in the club shop, over near the ticket booths and changing area. After all it is not in the least unusual to put toilets in a shop.

I wonder how people don't spend their hard earned with the outside sellers for the very reason there are no facilities to get rid or it.

St Mary's has two sets of male and female built into the stadium accessible from outside only.

A field just along Ditchling Road is a haven for me, after spending an hour and a half in the car knowing that the trip to the Race hill and the bus trip back to the Amex would be a few miles too far. No Band or outside food or drink for me as I'm often to be seen hopping from leg to leg waiting for the Stewards to open the turnstiles so I can access the toilets inside the ground as soon as they are open.

Surely the numbers of Portaloos required would be quite high although when there is music on at Victoria Park like Kathryn Jenkins etc they have a a large caravan type as shown in the picture directly above this post.

On a cold day a cloud of steam used to erupt from the open air toilets at Ninian Park at HT.

Take some pressure off the WSU toilets might even help with building up the crowds outside watching the bands and also keep the pressure of the bars inside the ground. :rave::facepalm:
