Have they relaxed the rules? The stewards used to make you leave your pint by the turnstyles when you went outside but lots of people outside with pints after the game.

Was lovely outside the West Stand. Spanish Dave was mobbed when he left.

Time for Tony to open a beer terrace above Dicks on the north stand roof.

For how many games per season 3 or 4 perhaps. Much easier to relax the rules and allow smokers to go outside for a smoke and take their beer with them and I dont moke

To be fair, there's not been many days this season where you would have wanted to take yout beer outside!

It was even better after the Palace game when you could take your drink back to your seat and talk to the players walking round.

Rather enjoyable standing on the grass bank outside the East yesterday with a couple of beers before sauntering up the P&R. I guess a lot of it depends on who the away fans are.

We asked one of the stewards and he said it was because we won 6-1

Sounds as good a reason as any.

We asked Richard Hebberd about doing this more often on this week's Roar.

The problem, he said, is that it's 'just slightly illegal...'. So how come we did it? 'It won't be a regular thing; but there may be occasion when it's appropriate. We did it because we're generous and lovely...'

It's not illegal though.... The FA's directive is that there should be no alcohol consumed in view of the pitch, whilst the game is in play. However, there is nothing to suggest in the rulebook that your breaking the law whilst there is no game being played.

hey will make a rod for their own backs either ignore the law, get it changed or adhere to it. You cannot as a club break the law when it suits and enforce it when it doesn't. The same goes with sales pitches outside they always maintained the licence doesn't allow us to put Burgher vans or whatever on the approaches as they are a health hazard but they can put club merchandise vans there. Double standards.
