I think that before we try and get these taken off, it is worth 2 NSC users bidding high. This would stop anyone trying to buy them getting in a legit bid which the tout could accept after refusing the fake ones. Bid high then try and get it taken off. [/B]

Isn't this what we are doing? I am still the highest bidder at £500 which as I stated in a previous thread I have no intention of paying.

Lush - in terms of what message it gives to the touts surely it says something like "members of NSC will screw up your attempts to tout on ebay". No-one can honestly think that £500 is a serious bid can they?

You are indeed - I was talking about any future ones that may pop up. If we get bids in straight away, it will stop the tout being able to accept an earlier, legit bid. And if yours was the only fake bid, the fact it has been bumped up to £500 means that someone else has bid say £450. When you didn't buy the ticket, they could then offer it to the £450 legit bid.

I think that makes sense.

I'm registered on ebay and have reported this. Even if it weren't illegal, selling football tickets is specifically prohibited by ebay, whether they're at face value or not.

Of course I've have no problem with it if they were being sold at face value on a 'buy it now' basis, but this individual is very obviously trying to make a profit. It'll get removed if people report it, if you're on ebay, do so.

I agree - if we put in a load of fake bids, not only does he not sell the tickets but gets grief from the authorities. Will that work??
