I agree with all posters stating we don't have one, as Potter picks the best 11 to face the next opponents.

I argued in the tinkering thread that a Best 11 will only be relevant for us in the Championship, where we can afford to have one of the strongest first 11s in the league.

I have stated my best 11 based on this view.

Ballsy to include a player you've never seen play

Plenty of signings don't work out you know

Seen him play for Poland and he did not look out of place but of course you’re right.
Bottom line I think our strongest side, almost regardless of who you pick, would be one that (long term form loss and injuries apart) doesn’t change from game to game. Everyone plays better with a run of games in their best/most familiar role. Appreciate some will agree while some think tinkering is a legitimate way to go.

At his best Adam Lallana was a brilliant player, Liverpool would hardly have signed him if he wasn't, but over the years time seems to have caught up with him, and his injury record is far from good. To the extent l think, that l wouldn't play him regularly now.

He wouldn't play himself regularly either. I have him in my team as the best X1 ... so think Cup Final ..... nah ..... Champions League Final

Sanchez
Lamptey White Webster Dunk March

Bissouma Propper (time will tell if Moder is better)

Lallana
Wellbeck Maupay

I don't think there will be too much debate on 9 of those.....

Propper and March might attract the usual comments

Works for me.
I'd insert Veltman for a CB though

Strongest XI from me (with plays every game when fit in BOLD):

--------------------Sanchez
--------White - Dunk - Webster
Lamptey - Bissouma - Propper - March
---Trossard - Maupay - Mac Alllister

- Really impressed with Dirty Sanchez. Not the finished article, but operating at a high level and will get better.
- Veltman is a cracking player to have on the bench, but Lamptey adds so much in offence, it out-weighs the rapidly closing gaps in his defensive technique.
- No alternative to Solly currently and an "every game" pick for me. Would love to see some competition for him.
- Dunk, Webster, White are a powerful trio at the back (Webster looking fantastic this season)
- Bissouma gets in every X1 for me, no matter who we play
- Propper over The Llama because with Ali Mac in the side, we have that advanced midfield covers. Propper is the better deep lying midfielder of the two.
- Maupay scores goals. I think he scores more than Welbeck and creates more impact by closing down oppo defenders, shithousery and hold-up play.
- Ali Mac on current form
- Trossard is in a rut, but when he is confident, he doesn't dither, and is lethal.
- Christ knows what GP will do if the Poles and Caicedo fulfil their promise - nice problems to have.

I think this is impossible, which is great for the Club.. My conundrums..
If we play with 3 CBs, then I think we get the absolute most out of Webster on the right, Dunk in the middle. In that scenario, BDB would be my preference on the left of the 3.. I think we lose too much of the positive contribution of Webster/Dunk if we move them to the left side. With March in front (not Trossard) or are new Polish lad, then I think BDB is good enough and we don't compromise elsewhere unnecessarily.
Ben White could be tried there, or at the middle of the 3 with Dunk moving out left but here and now I think his best team contributions have been at DCM. In time that will change I think and he may become the CB he has the potential to be, has not done enough to convince me right now, he is that much better in a 3 than BDB, but he is definitely a great option in CM.

Sanchez
Veltman-Dunk-Webster
Lamptey-White-Bissouma-March
Lallana-Groß
Welbeck

That looks pretty solid to me, some nice subs to come on if required too.

No pace up front and given injury records not sure if we would want Welbeck and LLana on at same time. I would put Macca in for Llana on current form and bring on Llana if fit and plan A not working with Macca.,

I would start Macca, Maupay and Connolly to drive a more pacey attack. All opinions I know.

Yeah the more I think about it, I think I'd actually pick Veltman over White.
Decided White wasn't going to beat Davy in CM so put him in at CB without questioning if he was the best pick.

I seem to have been brainwashed into thinking White is undroppable.

Sanchez over Ryan is unanimous
It definitely seems Ryan is yesterday's man not just by the boss but the fans too
Surprised that not even one has plumped for him

Looking through this thread it seems the vast majority believe that 7 players are certain starters in this best 11. Unsurprisingly perhaps they are:-
Sanchez
Dunk
White
Webster
Lamptey
March
Bissouma

Then it seems to be a choice of 4 from these next most popular choices:-
Lallana (who is very close to an automatic choice)
Maupay
Macallister
Wellbeck
Trossard

With Propper, Gross and Veltman the next most popular.
Two things occur to me. Firstly, I think Veltman would be very unlucky not to start. He is consistently high quality but the only way he starts, when Lamptey is fit, is as a CB which means pushing White into midfield. Secondly Bissouma needs a midfield partner and according to the most popular choices on here that partner is Lallana. He is a brilliant player but for me not a good enough defensive midfielder. So maybe White into the middle or Propper/Moder is the best answer.
I'd go for:
Sanchez
Veltman, Dunk, Webster,
Lamptey, Bissouma, White, March
Lallana, Maupay, Macallister

With Trossard, Wellbeck, Propper and Gross very close to starting

I'm not sure that he even fits that criteria now if l'm honest with you. I'm even wondering if we will end up seeing much more of him.

I agree with loads of this and for me, Lallana partnering Biss would very much depend on the strengths of the oppo...

Here's my baseline XI (to be adjusted according to the nature & ability of the opposition and, to a degree, how badly we need a win vs risk of losing a 6 pointer!):

Sanchez
White - Dunk - Webster
Lamptey - Bissouma - Lallana - March
Mac Allister
Wellbeck - Maupay

This is tough on a lot of decent players in our squad.

Veltman can consider himself very unlucky not to be included, but would get plenty of minutes in for White (if he was needed as CDM), or for Lamptey if injured / switch to a back 4. I think Veltman is a brilliant player to have in the squad.
Trossard has shown before that he can make a big impact off the bench.
Propper - would inevitably get games / minutes due to Lallana's frailties.
Gross - love him, just wouldn't squeeze into my favoured XI.
Tau - early days for him to displace Wellbeck or Maupay, but he's looking good so far.
Alzate - would love to see an in-form Alzate back in the team
Burn - CB cover rather than LB/LWB for me.

With the Polish lads to come and the likes of Khadra emerging too, it really shows what depth and tactical versatility we have within this squad.

So much depends on how we pla (back 3/5 or a 4) But if we were going with Potter's seemingly preferred back 3, and assuming everyone is fit and in form;

Sanchez
Webster - White - Dunk
Lamptey - Bissouma - Alzate - March
Lallana
Wellbeck - Maupay

Putting White in the middle of the 3 to allow him to 'step out' and play in that holding role as and when required.

Tough to leave out Ale Mac, Gross and Veltman but it is what it is

Our best 11 incorporates last season's formation when we were more solid in defence.
Sanchez
Lamptey, Webster, Dunk, Bernardo
Bissouma, Alzate
Trossard, March
Welbeck, Maupay

With us playing 3 CB's we lose a striker
Sanchez
Lamptey, Webster, Dunk, White, March
Trossard, Bissouma, Alzate, MacAllister
Maupay
