I guess it's all in the mind.
If only the England team can transport themselves from the semi/quarter-final of the worlds biggest competition (or Euro's).
To a cold night in Shrewsbury, playing out infront of a couple of thousand, for a meaningless piss pot trophy, semi-final place.

you wont be at wembley for the piss pott final then?

We've got to get there first.

Should that happen, then yes, it's how the competition was sold when it was introduced, 'let the little clubs have a moment of glory'.

But to equate away to Shrewsbury, to the knock-out stages of the world/euro's is a little far fetched.

The penalties vs Man City WERE pressure penalties - high profile match in front of a full house. Every one of them was taken with coolness and class. It suggests that mentally the players are pretty strong. I think that bodes well for the rest of the season (if we end up in a relegation fight, which God forbid we don't).

Im pretty sure the last shootout we lost was brentford in the LDV (as it was then), in 2001ish. midweek, it was originally meant to be played at withers if my memory serves me correctly.
