Surprisingly few decent Germans have played in the Premier League. But then again why would they when they can stay at home and play at the highest level too? I wonder how many Englishmen have played in Germany and what their goalscoring record is like in comparison.

It seems the most famous is Owen Hargreaves, and before 2017 there wasn't too many Englishman making the move to Germany at all.
The most famous is definitely Kevin Keegan.

If the Greek national league suddenly paid as much more than everybody else as the Premier League does now, then there'd be loads of English footballers turning out in the Greek league.
As it happens, that's not the case, so most of them play here still.
If they were good enough. When the Italian league was the best (& the Spanish & German), barely any English played there

John Charles, Denis Law, Jimmy Greaves, Gerry Hutchens............

OK, two of them were British, but they all came from the English league.

Class act. To think he was written off by a lot of fans a few seasons ago - look at him now!

Even Robbie Savage accurately summed up what a brilliant PL player he’s been! Early in commentary.
Oh agreed but, then again, it was about the only decent thing he said all night. All those terrible comments about how he'd been so wise in commenting that JPvH was getting too close to their CF. That's how JPvH plays and Savage was just demonstrating that he's barely watched us. JPvH played exactly the same way against Haaland.

I like his R5 double act with Sutton, but he’s a match day pundit that offers little. With his TNT side kick tonight, the Grim Reaper commentator, who talked up their pen shouts and seemingly revelled in the bad news of any Albion player being injured. Thank fck we won!

He always talks about his weeks playing for us. I got the impression at the time from an insider, many here have said the same, that he was a p-taker. Only interested in boozing, clubbing and ancillary extras.

I'm less fond of him with Sutton. Sutton and ABB was utter genius. In fact, Sutton is gold. He's a wind-up merchant, but his analysis is as good as anyone's. Good on the Monday Night Club too.
