Robinson - Not good enough. Will be let go asap
Cox - needs to find form again but he is good enough for this level in my book
Fraser - Doesn't look good enough to me but could well prove himself
Elphick - clearly the best of the bunch
Chamberlain - Who knows? If he has any chance one would think he needs to make an impression fairly soon
Cook - had a couple of oppurtunities but still has time on his side
Fogden - has already left the club, so irrelevant really

You may be right, you may not.

But you could possibly exchange the names on your list whilst leaving your comments with the journeymen pro's currently underperforming, on bloated contracts and their own performing levels woefully inadequate.

At least these local youngsters that have been associated to the club from an early age, might still have some more to go in terms of potential.

They have come through the ranks at a club and they and their families no doubt have a genuine infinity for BHAFC.

To dismiss them so readily and even apportion blame for the club's current position is unfair.

I highlighted in your post the ludicrous assumptions. And that is not mentioning the fact you don't even know the names of the players.

I lazily copied from the initial post. You're gonna pick holes with typos?

You highlighted the line "But I've not been this season" - Which I added to indicate that I was basing it on last seasons performances (which I saw many of) and reports of performances this season from other people that I've read in the various newspapers, that I've listened to on the radio, that I've heard from numerous sources. (No, I don't mean John Byrne said he underperformed so he must have, I mean I heard what he did or didn't do in the game, I heard Hawes' opinion, Byrne's Gall's, numerous phone in fans, and they don't always agree and I look at what they all say and work out where opinion and facts are being confused).

And that "now is the time for them to show their quality" you don't think these players should be showing us how good they can be now, when we need them to perform the best they can?

The phrase "get a grip" does not explain why you highlighted those two lines. And how exactly are "I've not been this season" (yet) and "now is the time for them to show their quality" ludicrous assumptions

They are good!

Cox - should be in the team and probably will after Saturdays defeat, he is a good player and certainly good enough for this level, sure he might have a bit of an attitude problem but he is young.

Robinson - I think he has been badly managed, after he had that good spell upfront he seems to have been permanently shunted out to the wing (not his position, he says it himself). He could be a 20 goal a season man, just needs an arm round him and a confidence boost, he is very skillfull, quick, a good finisher but is not even on the bench now! I can't imagine Harry Redknapp wouldn't get the best out of him by telliung him how good he is.

Fraser and Loft - Both have looked useful and certainly better than some of the over paid journeymen.

It was great when we had a load of youth teamers in the first team and squad and we finshed 7th last year. We should continue with that policy rather than giving up on them and binning all of them.

But the fact you're critiscising Elphick shows you have no clue. He has been our most consistent player this season and was our best player last season.

Fraser hasn't played much at all, and when he has, he's done nothing wrong.

I was basing it on reports of performances this season from other people that I've read in the various newspapers, that I've listened to on the radio, that I've heard from numerous sources.

Sorry but this sort of thing always annoys me. If I had never seen a film I would never talk about it as if I had, saying "oh I don't think so-and-so is very good in it", or "the ending is not very good". That would be ridiculous.

It's laughable when people call the phone-in and say "I didn't go to the game but..." - and then give views on players CURRENT form and team tactics etc. How can you comment objectively on something you have no experience of?

For example people have really come down on both sides of the fence regarding Saturday's performance against Huddersfield. I thought it was pretty dire while some thought it was worthy of 3 points. Shows that to form opinions you've got to be there.

I said this:

Frazer, Elpheck - I've not seen enough of these two, or when I've seen them they've not stood out. But I've not been this season yet.

"I've not seen enough of them" a) is not a criticism. It's a statement b) is me saying I can't pass judgement of those two because I've not seen enough of them.

I've seen enough of Cox and Robinson last season to be able to get an idea of what their potential is, and use that to compare to the picture of their performances I get from previous stated reports. I don't have that point of reference for Fraser or Elphick so wasn't commenting.

It annoys me when people think the only way to possibly know about the game is to be there. I don't think any historians were there when Henry VIII beheaded his wife, but they talk about it as experts. I don't think any priest or vicars were around in biblical times, but they talk as if they are experts in the bible.

I think to talk like you were there when you weren't is bad, but I made it very clear I have not been to games this season. If you only take notice of people who were there, that's fine, it's up to you, I've made it clear for you I wasn't and you can ignore me, I won't lose sleep over it.

(BTW if I've not seen a movie I will say "I've not seen it, I hear that..." or "such and such says...")

For example people have really come down on both sides of the fence regarding Saturday's performance against Huddersfield. I thought it was pretty dire while some thought it was worthy of 3 points. Shows that to form opinions you've got to be there.

People who were there did not all form the same opinion, the opinions that have been voiced by people who weren't there have the same range as the opinions of the people who were there, showing that the experience of being there hasn't added anything to the opinion.

Do you pass opinion on the games you watch on TV? I mean you weren't there. Sure you saw it on TV, but when listening to the game on the radio I "see" it, it's not that different to watching on TV when the commentary is adequate.
